Whitney Purvis has suffered a devastating loss.
The 16 and Pregnant star shared that her son Weston Gosa Jr. died on June 2. He was 16.
On Facebook, June 2nd, Whitney expressed it was tough for her to compose a message. She shared that her dear son, Weston, had sadly departed from this world.
She said, ‘Life seems so harsh and unjustified.’ Continuing on, she lamented, ‘My child is gone and I’m at a loss of what to do. He was flawless in every way. This feels like my deepest fear materializing. How does one carry on with life after losing a child? I can hardly believe it. It feels surreal, like something that shouldn’t be happening. All I want is to hold him once more. There are no words sufficient enough to express the pain I’m experiencing.’
Whitney—who didn’t reveal his cause of death—went on to share the love she had for her son.
Oh my goodness, Weston Owen Gosa, my adoration for you knows no bounds! It’s almost indescribable, like a burning flame that refuses to be extinguished. Every fiber of my being yearns for you, and I can’t help but express it over and over. You have such a significant place in my heart, my dearest Weston.
Seeing the young man you were evolving into filled me with an immense sense of pride. Watching you grow and develop was a truly beautiful experience that I will cherish forever. Yet, the cruel hand of fate has taken you away from us far too soon. Rest in eternal peace, my guardian angel. The world is a dimmer place without your radiant presence.
2009 saw Whitney on MTV, and she expressed her bewilderment about why life can sometimes be so heartless.
Amy Gosa, Weston’s stepmother, provided more information about the events leading up to the teenager’s death. She mentioned in a Facebook post that they attempted to wake him up at 7 a.m., but were unable to do so.
She stated that he had stopped breathing, so we initiated CPR and requested an ambulance. The paramedics also tried resuscitation efforts and transported him to a hospital in Gordon County, Georgia, where they later declared him deceased.
I’ve observed that Weston is dealing with multiple health concerns, among them being diabetes. Additionally, he has been diagnosed with a hereditary condition known as Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency, which may lead to damage in the lungs and liver.
Amy added that the family is waiting on an autopsy to determine cause of death.
