S.W.A.T. Exiles Team Reveals The Planned Production Window For The Spinoff

The release date for the “S.W.A.T. Exiles” spin-off has been disclosed, following the end of the original series. In this new installment, Shemar Moore reprises his role as Hondo. Interestingly, this isn’t the first time “S.W.A.T.” has been canceled, but this time, it won’t be returning for another season. However, the adventures of Hondo will continue in the spinoff, where he will step out of retirement to aid an innovative and unpredictable S.W.A.T. team.

In a chat with Variety, Sony executive Katherine Pope reveals that filming for S.W.A.T. Exiles will commence in August. She emphasizes the significance of maintaining the original S.W.A.T. crew and filming in Santa Clarita. Pope explains that one of the reasons behind the swift greenlight for this spinoff is her desire to “keep our production community active.” You can read her thoughts below:

We’re planning start production end of August, so, we’re moving!

This critical aspect significantly contributes to the overall situation. Recognizing our team and reflecting on our city and enterprise, it’s clear that maintaining our community’s wellbeing is crucial. We produce a few shows on our property, with “S.W.A.T.” consistently filmed at Santa Clarita locations. One of the reasons we moved quickly to approve this was to support local employment and keep our community active.
