Death Stranding 2: On the Beach Director Has Already Started Working on the Next Game

After completing the release of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach on June 26, the team at Kojima Productions will momentarily pause for a break. However, director Hideo Kojima has shared during his radio show that work on the studio’s next venture has already commenced. It appears that others find it unusual when Kojima starts drafting project plans well in advance.

Kojima stated, “I’m currently working on the next project,” he said, often eliciting responses such as “Really?”, or “I thought you were on a break. But it seems you’re already planning the next one.

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that Hideo Kojima himself has shared some exciting news. He mentioned that following their well-deserved breaks, our beloved studio will keep providing updates for “Death Stranding 2: On the Beach”. It’s not just about the game itself, but also the creative minds behind it who are gearing up again. Specifically, our talented 3D modellers will be diving back into their work, as they have a new project on their hands – an art book! This means they’ll be busy rendering characters, bosses, weapons, and much more to bring this art book to life. I can hardly wait to see what they come up with!

As a dedicated fan, I was hoping for more adventures in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach with post-launch content. However, it seems like Kojima Productions might be taking a well-deserved break, given there are no announced plans for DLCs after the game’s release. Although we can expect updates to fix any bugs that may arise, it appears that ongoing episodic DLC releases, as mentioned by Kojima, aren’t the norm anymore.

Regarding DLC, Kojima stated, “At this moment, there’s no specific plan,” he said. “It seems like expansions aren’t as popular these days, but who knows? In the past, we often added content after launch. However, currently, I can’t confirm if there will be any DLC. What I can assure is that we will fix any bugs post-release in June and continue to enhance the game. We might even introduce new elements that weren’t present in the initial version. Time will tell.

Kojima shared that initially, they intended to make Sam Porter Bridges’ hair more interactive and personalizable. On air, he discussed the innovation behind making Sam’s hair grow in real-time gameplay, as well as allowing players to select different hair colors for him. Regrettably, these ideas were abandoned in the end.

As we eagerly await the arrival of “Death Stranding 2: On the Beach”, Kojima Productions has revealed that they will be holding a special Game Premiere on June 8th. This exciting event, set to commence at 7 PM Pacific Time, will be managed by Geoff Keighley and is anticipated to include a discussion panel with Kojima and other esteemed guests. Additionally, the event promises to unveil the final game trailer prior to its launch.

Death Stranding 2: On the Shore – A PS5 Exclusive for Now

It appears that Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is set to launch exclusively on the PlayStation 5. Given Kojima Productions’ history, there’s a possibility it may also become available on PC at some point in the future. Following this game, the studio plans to work on two other projects – OD and Physint.
