Film director Danny Boyle verifies that actor Cillian Murphy will reprise his role in the anticipated “28 Years After” trilogy. Boyle previously helmed the original “28 Days After,” released in 2002, where Murphy portrayed a character named Jim, a bicycle messenger who emerges from a coma to find that the Rage Virus has devastated London. In the upcoming “28 Years After,” Boyle is once again at the helm, marking the beginning of a new trilogy that already includes the sequel, titled “The Bone Temple,” which was simultaneously filmed by Nia DaCosta.
In a recent chat with Business Insider, director Danny Boyle disclosed that Cillian Murphy is set to reappear in the upcoming 28 Years Later trilogy. Boyle shared his intentions for Murphy to appear at the conclusion of DaCosta’s film, The Bone Temple. He also expressed optimism that having Murphy on board will aid in securing financing for the third film, which Boyle intends to direct himself. You can read more about Boyle’s remarks below:
She ends up with a hint of Cillian towards the end. To put it simply, you’ll need to be patient for Cillian, and let’s hope he can assist us in securing funding for the third movie.
