Amy Gosa is grieving the sudden loss of her stepson.
Amy opened up about the events leading to the unfortunate death of her 16-year-old stepson, Weston Gosa Jr., who is the son of former stars of “16 & Pregnant”, Whitney Purvis and her ex-husband Weston Gosa, on June 2. She provided a glimpse into the moments prior to his passing.
On the day he passed away, she shared on Facebook, ‘Writing this is quite challenging, but this morning, our precious Weston took his last breath.’
Amy, who wed Weston Sr. in 2016, stated that they are still unaware of what led to his death. An autopsy is scheduled to be performed shortly, but at this moment, all they can share is that they woke up around 7 am and found Weston wasn’t breathing. They attempted CPR, called an ambulance, and the paramedics did as well upon arrival. Unfortunately, he was later declared dead at the hospital in Gordon County.
At the time of his death, Weston was dealing with multiple health problems, including diabetes. Consequently, Amy voiced that their entire family is devastated and taken aback by the turn of events.
Additionally, the teenager was identified with a genetic condition known as Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency, unveiled in an episode of the reality show, which may lead to harm in both lungs and liver.
Amy expressed that it came as an immense shock,” she penned. “Losing a child is the most agonizing ordeal I’ve known, and I fervently wish to avoid such pain in the future. He was the outstanding son I could have wished for, possessing intelligence, wit, humor, and boundless promise for his life.
A short while following Amy announcing the tragic news through social media, Whitney composed a touching tribute of her own for her son.
She expressed her deep affection for Weston Owen Gosa, saying ‘I adore you immensely, Weston!’ She felt an intense love for him, referring to him as the core of her being. She beamed with pride as she watched you grow into a fine young man. It’s hard for her to continue living without you.
Furthermore, when Whitney (the one who greeted Weston on the MTV show back in 2009) found it challenging to convey her sorrow through words, numerous well-wishers extended their sympathy and comfort via the comments section instead.
The reality star expressed their feelings by saying life can be harsh and unjust. They struggle to make sense of things because they’ve lost their baby and are feeling utterly lost.
She went on, ‘He was flawless beyond words.’ This dreadful situation feels like my worst nightmare manifesting. How does one carry on with life after losing a child? It’s hard for me to accept this reality. I don’t want it to be true. There isn’t anything I wouldn’t give to have him back in my arms again. The anguish I feel defies description.
