Steven Spielberg’s Daughter Sets Streaming Release for Her Horror Movie

For the first time as a director, Destry Allyn Spielberg, daughter of renowned filmmaker Steven Spielberg, will officially make her debut with a full-length movie titled Don’t Feed the Children, which is set for streaming release on June 27, 2025.

Through the acquisition, Tubi secured the rights for streaming “Don’t Feed the Children” in both the United States and Canada. The film features Regan Aliyah, Zoe Colletti, Andrew Liner, Joshua Melnick, and Emma Meisel as the main cast, with Dean Scott Vazquez and Giancarlo Esposito playing supporting roles. In this horror-thriller penned by Paul Bertino, a group of orphans navigate their way through a nation where adults have been wiped out due to a viral outbreak. Along their journey, they stumble upon a disturbed woman with a hidden, potentially dangerous secret.

Spielberg expressed heartfelt appreciation for working on a passion project alongside a dedicated team. The journey to reach this point has been exhilarating, and she’s eager to unveil this movie to the world. Despite this being her initial full-length directorial venture, it’s not her debut in directing; she had previously produced, directed, and acted in the short film ‘Rosie,’ which was released in 2019.

In the year 2022, she helmed another short film titled “Let Me Go (The Right Way)” featuring Brian d’Arcy James. This short film was awarded the title of Best Thriller at the City of Angels Women’s Film Festival. The producer, Basil Iwanyk, noticed this production and enlisted Steven Spielberg to direct the upcoming movie “Four Assassins (and a Funeral)“.

We’re thrilled to debut the movie ‘Please Don’t Feed The Children‘ on Tubi and present Destry’s remarkable directorial debut to viewers,” said Samuel Harowitz, Tubi’s SVP of Content Acquisitions & Partnerships. The film boasts a talented young cast, maintains an unyielding sense of tension, and stars Michelle Dockery as a menacing villain, promising a spine-tingling adventure for horror-thriller enthusiasts. We’re thankful that Destry and Paul selected Tubi to display this distinctive film, and we can’t wait to share their vision with our viewers on Tubi.

Don’t Feed the Children Will Introduce New Horror Movie Stars

Spielberg intends to gather a large number of new acting talents, alongside veterans like Esposito (from Captain America 4) and Dockery. He stated, “I aimed to introduce as many fresh faces as I could that’s my vision as a director moving forward. I want to launch careers because I’m tired of seeing films lacking in young talent. There are numerous young and gifted actors who deserve recognition.

As a devoted cinephile, I’ve always been captivated by the intrigue of psychological films. When crafting “Don’t Feed the Children”, it transformed into more of a psychological thriller than a traditional horror flick. It’s as if the spirit of “The Goonies” merged with the grit of “Children of Men,” creating an unique blend that I’m incredibly proud to have brought to life.

Please Don’t Feed the Children will stream on Tubi starting June 27, 2025.
