Dandadan Season 2 Teases Darker Tone and Shocking Twists You Can’t Miss

The second season of “Dandadan” is almost upon us, promising a more terrifying experience than before! With Halloween arriving earlier than expected, the television show’s second installment will explore the chilling tales of “The Cursed House” and “The Evil Eye,” previously hinted at in Season 1’s controversial finale. This upcoming season will shine a brighter light on Jiji, deepening his connection with Okarun, while further developing the intricate love triangle involving Momo as well.

Prior to the premiere of Season 2 and the “Dandadan: Evil Eye” movie set for release on June 3rd in cinemas, ComicBook had a chance to chat with the English voice actors behind the show – Abby Trott, AJ Beckles, and Aleks Le. They shared insights on what’s to come in Season 2, as well as the anticipated alterations it will bring to the series, including shifts in the overall mood and dynamics among the beloved trio of friends.

AJ Beckles hinted that there’s a significant change in tone from the first season to this one, as they delve deeper into the “Evil Eye” storyline. This transition places more focus on Jiji and even grants him new powers. Moreover, the “Evil Eye” arc alters the relationship dynamics among the trio, adding an exciting twist to their journey together.

Aleks Le stated, “At first, it seemed like they introduced him as a potential danger for Okarun to create tension. However, within just two episodes, we discovered that he’s quite relaxed… I was delighted to witness his progression and to find out he has a larger part in this season, with plenty more aspects of his character yet to be uncovered.

Dandadan‘s Cast Thought the Season 1 Cliffhanger Was “Brutal”

Previously, the controversial cliffhanger at the end of Season 1 sparked debate among viewers. Fortunately, the gap between Seasons 1 and 2 is relatively small, allowing us to re-engage with the excitement within a year’s time. Moreover, it wasn’t only fans who were taken aback by the Season 1 finale; even the cast expressed eagerness to resume filming.

During their chat about resuming recording for Season 2, Abby Trott expressed her eagerness to get back earlier than they did, explaining, “We ended Momo on such a suspenseful note, and I couldn’t wait to find out what happens next.” Aleks Le concurred, stating, “I completely understand the anticipation, that cliffhanger was intense.” Here’s hoping we won’t have to wait too long for Season 3.

Dandadan Season 2 premieres on Crunchyroll and Netflix on July 3rd.
