Warning: The events discussed below reveal plot points from today’s Emmerdale episode (June 4th). You can watch it now on ITVX.
The most recent episode of Emmerdale features a surprising climax following Ruby Miligan’s (Beth Cordingly) startling admission of guilt concerning a murder case.
Upon hearing the news that a corpse had been discovered in the lake, Ruby became distraught, fearing it might be her abusive father, Anthony Fox (Nicholas Day), whom she believed to have caused his own demise.
John Sugden (played by Oliver Farnworth) concealed his body without disclosing its location, leading Ruby, along with her husband Caleb (William Ash), and their accomplices Chas (Lucy Pargeter) and Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), to devise an escape plan.
Cain made arrangements for Caleb and Ruby to escape to Ireland and reside with Mystic Dingle, a person known for providing shelter to his kin in need, over the course of many years.
When I retired for the night, Caleb, I penned him a note and set off towards the police station, there I admitted to taking my father’s life.
In due course, Ruby disclosed to a police officer that Anthony had sexually assaulted her when she was a teenager. A short while back, she encountered him at the lake, resulting in an altercation which led to his fall and subsequent death.
She claimed Caleb was innocent, but at The Mill, Caleb discovered the situation and freaked out, revealing his wife’s letter to Chas.
The cops showed up to grill Caleb, yet he reached out to his lawyer too, who disrupted Ruby’s interrogation, allowing the strategy they had devised to unfold.
As things look bleak for Ruby, a twist changes everything – but what happens next?
You’ll just have to tune in now on ITVX, or watch the hour-long episode from 7pm on ITV.
As the episode nears its end, it’s certain that the police will soon confront Tracy Robinson (Amy Walsh) to share the tragic news: the discovered corpse is likely that of her estranged spouse, Nate (Jurell Carter).
With Ruby’s unnecessary admission hanging over her, how will she get out of this mess?
