Even though the acclaimed show ER ended in 2009, the bonds between its cast remain strong. For instance, lead actor Noah Wyle shared that George Clooney, a fellow star from the series, expressed interest in his latest medical drama, The Pitt.

Noah shared with TopMob News during the Gotham Awards on June 2nd that George had praised his performance, a tactic Noah believes was aimed at inviting him to watch George’s Broadway show. The strategy worked, as Noah went on to see “Good Night, and Good Luck”. Noah added, “George was just as impressive.

I, a former member of the ER family, was thrilled to attend my colleague’s play opening night earlier this year, which also saw the reunion of Noah with several past ER costars. Interestingly, it isn’t just me who is celebrating Noah’s new series; other ex-ER doctors are doing the same too. In fact, I’ve been fortunate enough to catch up with quite a few of my old castmates, and they’ve all been wonderfully supportive.

The term “wonderful” perfectly encapsulates Noah’s overall journey on “The Pitt“, ranging from his collaboration with his co-stars to the positive response the series has garnered from viewers.

“It’s been phenomenal,” Noah noted. “Prayed for, unexpected, but extremely gratifying.”

Besides himself, the Librarians alumni held their Pitt co-stars in particularly high regard. These include Taylor Dearden, Patrick Ball, and Isa Briones, as well as several others.

Noah, who’s not just an actor but also a writer and executive producer on the show, jokingly remarked, ‘On-screen we create plenty of drama, but off-screen it’s all laughter.’ He described the team as incredibly hardworking individuals who balance their professional commitment with a lighthearted attitude. ‘They take their work seriously, but not themselves,’ Noah said. ‘It’s like the perfect chemistry experiment I’ve ever been involved in.’

The experiment will extend into its second phase, taking place over a 15-hour span on one of the nation’s major holidays – Independence Day (Fourth of July). As Noah points out, this day tends to see a surge in injuries severe enough for hospital treatment.

He jokingly remarked that merely mentioning the Fourth of July sparked a flood of grim tales about holiday behavior from others, implying that there’s enough material for an entire decade of TV shows based on it.

Previously speaking with Vulture about the patriotic setting, Scott Gemmill, who serves as showrunner and executive producer, described it this way: “There are fireworks displays. Someone doesn’t fare well at a hot dog eating competition; someone gets sunburned. You can see all the cases meandering around.
