Fans of Mario Kart are growing anxious with the imminent arrival of both Mario Kart World and the new Nintendo Switch 2, given that they haven’t seen Diddy Kong in any previews for Mario Kart World. This has been a cause for concern, as Nintendo hasn’t said much about their beloved character. Lately, though, a comment from Nintendo has intensified fans’ worries about whether Diddy Kong will be present in the new game at all and if he might instead be introduced as additional paid downloadable content later on.
Kosuke Yabuki, producer of “Mario Kart World”, was questioned about Diddy Kong’s presence in the game by IGN. Regrettably, Yabuki couldn’t provide any information at that moment, which has added to the uncertainty surrounding Donkey Kong’s partner in the game. Fans will have to patiently wait for more details when “Mario Kart World” is released or potentially after that date.
In the revamp, Donkey Kong now resembles his portrayal from the Super Mario Bros. movie, while Diddy Kong has undergone a fresh makeover as well. This updated version of DK can be seen in both Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza, implying that Diddy Kong would also adopt this new appearance in both games to maintain consistency.
It’s worth noting that Diddy Kong was not featured in either Mario Kart 8 or Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at their initial releases. Instead, he was introduced through downloadable content. Speculation suggests Nintendo might do the same for Mario Kart World. This has left many fans disappointed because Diddy Kong is often a main character in previous Mario Kart games. We’ll know more when Mario Kart World comes out on June 5th. However, at this point, Nintendo hasn’t released a comprehensive list of characters.
