Warning: SPOILERS for The Cleaning Lady season 4, episodes 11-12.
As a movie enthusiast, I’m excitedly diving into the next installment of Thony’s thrilling journey through cartels and compromised law enforcement, titled The Cleaning Lady. Although this season wraps up many of the main conflicts by its finale, it tantalizingly promises an intriguing continuation for our surviving characters. Chris is raking in TikTok earnings that would make most folks’ annual salaries look paltry, Jaz is embarking on her college journey, and Fiona can now proudly call her house her own outright.
If what’s happening was a plot from “Modern Family”, it would be quite extraordinary, but “The Cleaning Lady” isn’t that type of series. Amidst all the exciting updates, there’s been a kind of internal conflict within Sin Cara, while Thony is finding ways to leverage this strife for her benefit. Meanwhile, the renewal of “The Cleaning Lady” for season 5 is yet to be confirmed, but the actions taken in the season 4 finale could have significant repercussions if the show continues.
Thony Buries Ramona Alive For Kidnapping Luca
But That Doesn’t Mean Ramona Isn’t Still A Threat
During season 4, a significant issue has arisen: Jorge’s failure to either take down Heller or find a compromise has led Sin Cara associates to kill members of their own cartel. What makes this even more troubling is that they’ve been targeting innocent children, which is usually forbidden in times of conflict and revenge, given that family members are typically off-limits. This could be a hint at things to come, as everything Thony has done so far has been aimed at protecting her son Luca.
In a different phrasing: Ramona attempts to take revenge on Thony and Jorge by seizing Luca and Violeta and raising them as her own while imprisoning Thony underground. However, Fiona manages to get Benny’s assistance to arrive in time and strike Ramona severely. Although Ramona endures the attack, Thony chooses not to kill her but buries her in the heart of the desert instead. This means Alejandra is now free, possibly involved in the plan to eliminate Thony, making it likely she knows where Ramona has been buried. Her survival could potentially cause trouble for Thony in the future.
Jorge Loses Control Over Sin Cara (But Can He Still Return?)
His Plans For The Future Remain Unclear
Following the season 4 premiere of “The Cleaning Lady,” it felt like most of the subsequent episodes were building up Feng’s power within Sin Cara. It appeared that his affection for Jialong made him susceptible to manipulation, but it turned out that the majority of the Sin Cara associates who killed fellow cartel members were acting under Feng’s direct commands. This plot twist suggests a long-term scheme, as Jorge eventually realized that Feng’s supposed boss, Koh, was nonexistent. Instead, Feng had been taking orders from Sam Heller all along.
In an unclear sequence of events, Feng arranges an attack on Jorge, coincidentally at the airport that Jorge must reach to rescue his children. Nearly escaping death, Jorge chooses to pay off a pilot to transport him abroad to forge a new alliance against Sin Cara. Although we know Jorge has connections in countries like Ecuador, it remains undetermined where he is heading or how he intends to act if he obtains assistance. Next to Ramona, Jorge stands as one of the most unpredictable factors regarding the progression of the story.
How Thony Becomes A Full Sin Cara Associate (With Twists)
Feng Doesn’t Know She’s Working With The DA
After leaving the country, Jorge hands over all the incriminating evidence against Heller for murdering the DA to Thony, intending it to be used to bring him down. Now that ex-ADA Joel Herman is in charge, Thony instead passes the information to Feng in exchange for a full partnership while working with Herman to take down Sin Cara from within. However, what Herman is unaware of is that Thony also has plans to use this alliance to seize control of the entire cartel for herself.
It’s not entirely unexpected that this situation presents two main paths for Thony: either assuming control of the cartel or leaving it behind for a normal life. With the latest turn of events, she now has the option to choose either path. However, her demand for full immunity for past crimes from the DA’s office, if granted, could hinder Joel’s pursuit of justice for Rex Blackley. If she decides to lead the cartel instead, she might be able to dismantle it from within and ultimately escape.
The Cleaning Lady Season 4 Finale Sets Up Thony’s Biggest Ambition Yet
She’s Finally Ready To Take Over The Cartel
In the heart-pounding finale of The Cleaning Lady’s fourth season, I find myself on the edge of my seat as Thony finds herself in a precarious situation. Her intention is twofold: assist Joel in dismantling Sin Cara, yet she also declares her ambition to undermine the cartel so she can seize control. However, it’s important to note that if Thony were to take over Sin Cara doesn’t necessarily mean she couldn’t escape and lead a typical life. She might risk breaching her immunity agreement in the process, but when Joel took on the role of District Attorney, he pledged to do what is right, not always what is legal.
It seems like Thony is facing more than one hurdle at the moment. Taking down Sin Cara requires her to take down Heller first, but Jorge’s evidence might not be enough to achieve this goal. Even Joel, who has been pursuing Heller for years, hasn’t managed to make a significant impact on his organization. Moreover, it’s unclear whether Thony is aware of what Heller allegedly took from Jorge’s safe or how it could strengthen Heller’s criminal network. With limited knowledge at her disposal, this complex plan could potentially lead Thony into deeper trouble as the narrative unfolds.
What Else To Expect From The Cleaning Lady Season 5
The Series Might Be In The Perfect Position To End For Good
No matter if Ramona survives, Jorge finds accomplices, or Thony assumes control over Sin Cara, The Cleaning Lady season 4 has a multitude of plotlines to resolve. Chris has managed to maintain his secrecy as a TNT dancer, but now that Fiona’s created a powerful adversary in Ramona, both of Fiona’s children might be at risk. Ramona has demonstrated a propensity for targeting loved ones, and attacking Fiona could serve as an effective strategy to undermine Thony.
Furthermore, in the upcoming season, it’s crucial to delve into Dupont’s last discussion with Thony. When he encounters her prior to her rendezvous with Ramona, his warning about revenge seems eerily reminiscent of someone who has previously taken a life. As we move forward into The Cleaning Lady‘s fifth season, both Dupont and Benny should have expanded roles. The absence of his background up to this point needs addressing. Regardless of the development of side characters like Dupont, if the series continues, Thony’s conflict with Sin Cara could finally resolve her storyline, marking a significant turning point.
