In partnership with Eidos-Montreal, Verigo Games and Maze Theory are unveiling the game titled “Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow” for PlayStation, SteamVR, and Oculus Quest 2 and 3.

Richard Stitselaar, CEO of Vertigo Games, shared in a press statement, ‘Our aim is to develop a [virtual reality] adventure that transforms players from simple gameplay characters into actual thieves.’ It’s an honor for us to collaborate with Eidos-Montreal and Maze Theory on this renowned series, innovating its presentation like never before. This immersive narrative and interactive experience is what we envision as the pinnacle of the medium’s evolution.

Eidos-Montreal’s creative director Steven Gallagher stated, “Thief has always been centered around mastering the shadows, using a combination of skills and cunning to traverse its gloomy and perilous environment. Whether you prefer stealth or opt for a more confrontational style with arrows and a blackjack, it’s an intriguing world. The idea of experiencing this revamped version in virtual reality is exhilarating, as it adds an extra layer of immersion to Thief’s captivating atmosphere, and we can hardly wait for both seasoned fans and newcomers to delve into it through VR.
