James Bond’s Origin Story 007 First Light Will Run at 60fps in Quality Mode on PS5 Pro

Amidst the flood of fresh details about 007 First Light, the James Bond origin story by IO Interactive (the creators of Hitman), lies the announcement that the game will fully utilize the capabilities of the PlayStation 5 Pro.

On the PlayStation Blog, Yann Roskell, a Senior Communication Manager, disclosed that the upcoming release is optimized for Sony’s powerful system, boasting a smooth performance of 60 frames per second in Quality mode. It’s likely that the standard PS5 will run at 30fps in Quality mode, though this assumption comes from our own deduction.

Roskell mentioned that the game makes use of a technology called PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), which is Sony’s own AI-driven upscaler. This tech can transform lower resolution images into 4K without significantly affecting image quality, freeing up developers to focus on optimizing other resources.

It’s no shock that IO Interactive can take advantage of the PS5 Pro’s power, given its past achievements. Nonetheless, it’s reassuring to hear that this is indeed the case.
