In the vibrant Mario Kart World, it appears Rainbow Road isn’t immediately available – that’s because I need to earn my stripes and unlock it first before I can zoom through its cosmic tracks!

How to unlock Rainbow Road in Mario Kart World explained

To gain access to Rainbow Road, you must successfully finish all cups in the Grand Prix mode. This achievement will then open up the Special Cup for you.

In Mario Kart World, there are a total of eight cups that need to be finished, yet at first, the last cup will not be visible.

As a thrilled enthusiast, I can’t help but excitedly share that the coveted Final Cup, dubbed the “Special Cup,” is packed with some of my favorite tracks! We’ve got Rainbow Road, the iconic course that never fails to take my breath away. Then there’s Acorn Heights, a challenging yet rewarding track that always pumps me up. Not forgetting Mario Circuit and Peach Stadium, both providing an exhilarating rush every time I race through them!

As a gamer, to get my hands on Rainbow Road, I’ve got to conquer each one of these seven tracks first: Mushroom Valley, Sunflower Plains, Stardust Circuit, Sandshoe Shoreline, Banana Bay, Autumn Forest, and Thunder Track.

To gain access to the Special Cup, it doesn’t matter if you don’t win or place in the top three in any of these competitions. In fact, even if you end up in last place in all of them, you can still unlock it as long as you actually finish them.

You’re not required to finish the tasks on a specific Cartridge Capacity (CC), so feel free to enjoy playing on the 50CC setting if that suits your preference better.

It’s good to know that in the Mario Kart World, only Rainbow Road and its Special Cup variations need to be unlocked; all other tracks can be accessed immediately.
