Outgoing executive producer Chris Clenshaw’s final episode credit on EastEnders has been revealed.
On Friday, 13th June 2025, the final episode written by Clenshaw will be broadcast on BBC One’s soap opera. This episode will revolve around the wedding-related turmoil of beloved characters Kat Slater (played by Jessie Wallace) and Alfie Moon (portrayed by Shane Richie).
The events of the episode unveil that Kat has cancelled her wedding due to some blunders on Alfie’s side. Later, she engages in sincere discussions with two other women, Elaine Knight (Harriet Thorpe) and Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter), who are both grappling with their own relationship issues.
Will the three women overcome their relationship dramas, and will ‘Kalfie’ tie the knot?
Starting from next week, which begins on Monday, 16th June 2025, executive producer Ben Wadey will be taking over, as he’s now credited for the series.
Jean decides to correct an issue, Alfie seems to be concealing information, and George receives some guidance in this initial episode.
So, it seems the dramas for the Slaters are not ending anytime soon!
After garnering numerous accolades at the British Soap Awards 2025 with Clenshaw at the helm, EastEnders is now hinting at what’s to come during the Ben Wadey period.
At the BAFTA TV Awards, Kate Oates, head of BBC’s continuing drama, expressed: “We find ourselves venturing into unexplored realms, which is quite an achievement considering the footsteps we follow after Mr. Clenshaw. He has pioneered new paths, so for Ben [Wadey], our new executive, it’s a significant challenge to build upon Chris’s achievements. However, he is eager and prepared for this task, and our team is thrilled about it.
She added: “We’re going to miss Chris terribly, but we’re also really excited for what’s to come.”
In the upcoming months, we can expect some modifications in the soap’s cast as characters such as Felix Baker (played by Matthew Morrison), Bernadette Taylor (portrayed by Clair Norris), and Stacey Slater (played by Lacey Turner) will be leaving the series.
