The creator of “Better Call Saul” alongside Vince Gilligan, Peter Gould, is currently working on a new drama for FX, with a well-loved actor from “You” taking the main role in this series. Known for his contributions to both “Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul”, including co-creating the latter and crafting many of its episodes, Gould has also directed numerous episodes for these shows, such as the final episode of “Better Call Saul,” titled “Saul Gone.” The series debut, which Gould also wrote, was awarded the 2015 WGA prize for Best Dramatic Episode, highlighting his commitment to this show.
Currently, it’s been verified that Gould is developing a drama series on FX, titled “Disinherited”. This upcoming show will star Victoria Pedretti from ‘You’ and Kiera Allen from ‘The Good Doctor’. The sisters in this story find themselves inheriting something unexpected. As described, their journey involves navigating through generational wealth and uncovering old crimes that have been buried for years, as they adapt to their new circumstances. Rian Johnson, Ram Bergman, and Nena Rodrigue of T-Street are serving as executive producers alongside Gould. FX Productions is also involved as a producer. Gould himself will be penning the script for the pilot episode.
What To Expect From Gould’s New TV Show
The Stars Are Perfect For Their Roles
Pedretti is primarily recognized for portraying Love, a character in the second and third seasons of the series “You,” who shares an intense obsession with the main character, only to later reveal that she too is just as obsessive. Additionally, she gained prominence for her roles in Netflix’s horror series “The Haunting of Hill House” and “The Hauning of Bly Manor.” Her performances in these roles garnered numerous award nominations. Pedretti has also made guest appearances on both “The Good Doctor” and “Watson,” and starred alongside Sarah Paulson in the 2020 psychological horror film “Run.
The two actors selected for the new series “Disinherited” have impressive resumes, making their casting seem perfectly suited. Gould, who has written and produced for some of the most highly-regarded TV shows in history, adds credibility to FX’s decision to acquire this upcoming show. Moreover, FX is no stranger to television excellence, boasting a lineup that includes award-winning series like “Fargo,” “Shogun,” and the forthcoming “The Bear” Season 4. Although details about the new show are scarce, its creator and stars’ proven track records suggest it has a strong chance of success.

The high praise these shows have received sets the bar high for his upcoming FX show, a challenge he’s demonstrated he can meet. With two leading actors who seem tailor-made for the series’ narrative, it seems that as more details about the show are revealed, its prospects for success become increasingly clear.
