If you’re a fan of Jonathan Bailey, known for his work on Bridgerton, then your eyes and ears are in for a treat in 2025! Not only will he appear in the summer blockbuster Jurassic World Rebirth, but he’ll also reprise his role as the charming Fiyero, which we got a sneak peek of in the first trailer for Wicked: For Good.
Experiencing Jon M. Chu’s adaptation of the Broadway legend was bound to be something extraordinary; however, I never imagined he would liken it to Roland Emmerich’s Independence Day, and yet it seems fitting. As Mr. Bailey shares these anecdotes in a GQ profile, one can agree or disagree with his assessment.
In the vicinity of M1, not far from Munchkinland, I found myself with Ariana Grande crooning a lovely mezzo soprano tune. People were pulling over on the shoulder of the road, trying to capture her performance on video. Up above, it seemed like there were men in the sky, but they were actually microlights and drones. It felt like a scene straight out of Independence Day.
Indeed, it’s not about Munchkinland residents fleeing an exploding Empire State Building; rather, the analogy remains valid. Visualizing the acclaimed artistry of “Wicked” performed in an English field, complete with all the spectacle and grandeur, must have been absolutely thrilling.
Although the sight of drones and microlights could potentially be captivating, especially at certain times when they might appear otherworldly. Reminds me a bit of watching Independence Day in the ’90s, with its jaw-dropping scenes like Bill Pullman’s passionate speech that gave the movie its title.
Among all, only Jonathan Bailey had an exceptionally close view of the action compared to what a Peacock subscription could offer, and surprisingly, he witnessed a complimentary Ariana Grande show. In any case, there’s always a chance for some exciting Jeff Goldblum anecdotes to surface.

If you can’t wait until November to enjoy “Wicked: For Good,” consider subscribing to Peacock TV! For just $7.99 a month, or $79.99 a year, you’ll have access not only to “Wicked” but also some documentaries and the upcoming live event in November. It might be difficult to find something to bring you down with such an exciting lineup at your fingertips! Plus, there’s even an option to upgrade for ad-free streaming. The response to the first part of Universal’s two-part musical masterpiece had a remarkably similar impact as the initial release of the 1996 sci-fi catastrophe blockbuster. With Wicked surpassing multiple box office benchmarks, and even causing audiences to join in the singing (to the dismay of some), it was a film that perfectly captured the zeitgeist.
The musical “Wicked: For Good” won’t premiere until November 21st, but you can already stream the original “Wicked” on Peacock. Meanwhile, Jonathan Bailey is set to appear in “Jurassic World Rebirth,” opening in theaters on July 2nd – a date much closer than any confirmed release for “Bridgerton” Season 4, which won’t return to Netflix until 2026.
