Maren Morris Shares Sweet Message to Fans During Pride Month

Maren Morris is meeting her supporters in the middle.

One year following the “80s Mercedes” vocalist’s announcement of being bisexual, she marked the initial Pride Month with an emotional note for her supporters.

35-year-old artist expressed gratitude during her performance at West Hollywood’s OUTLOUD Festival on May 30, saying, “Thank you to all, regardless of gender identity, for your support.” Last summer, she didn’t plan to announce anything formally. Instead, she wanted to share her feelings casually. She was not expecting the warm welcome, open arms, and encouragement that she received from everyone.

The 35-year-old performer thanked everyone – men, women, and those in between – during her show at West Hollywood’s OUTLOUD Festival on May 30. She hadn’t planned to make a big announcement last summer, but she simply wanted to express her gratitude. What she didn’t anticipate was the kindness, open arms, and support that she received from all of you.

Afterward, Maren played “Naturally, it follows” from her recently released album titled “Dreamsicle,” a heartfelt song she dedicated to her 5-year-old son named Hayes Andrews.

She mentioned that her only child, who she has with ex-husband Ryan Hurd (aged 37), is currently at an exciting stage where he’s discovering all aspects of his character during the show. He adores colors, art, crafts, and musicals, particularly the play “Wicked”, which he’s deeply fascinated by to the point that she often finds herself involved with it. In fact, she wrote a song specifically for him.

Beyond her initial admiration, she also shared thoughts about her first performance at the festival through a post on Instagram.

In my initial appearance at a Pride event since I came out last year, the country-pop singer shared a post featuring her performance in a colorful bell-sleeved top and leather pants. She expressed gratitude towards @wehopride for being such a warm and accepting community. Wishing everyone a joyous Pride month.

Maren’s announcement about her identity was equally clear and direct. During a backstage peek into her RSVP: Redux Tour in June, she uploaded a picture of herself holding a Pride flag on social media.

“Happy to be the B in LGBTQ+,” she wrote on Instagram at the time, “Happy pride.”

Maren recently shared a heartfelt message, discussing her dating journey since her divorce from Ryan in 2024, which lasted six years. She’s had a favorable experience dating women, but admittedly, she’s still navigating the distinction between platonic friendships and romantic relationships.

On the May 9 episode of the U Up? podcast, she clarified, “Occasionally, I deeply care for a woman and consider her my friend. However, there are moments when it seems she might kiss me, yet I perceive us as just friends. But on an emotionally intense level, I strongly resonate with you.
