Bindi Irwin Shares How Daughter Grace Reminds Her of Late Dad Steve Ir

Crikey, Bindi Irwin‘s daughter may just be is following in her dad’s footsteps.

Apart from the fact that Bindi Irwin, Steve Irwin’s eldest daughter, is currently raising her own child, Grace Warrior Irwin Powell (aged 4), at their family’s Australia Zoo, it’s also important to note that Chandler Powell is involved in this upbringing as well.

In the June 5th episode of the “Not Gonna Lie” podcast, Bindi shared with Kylie Kelce, “Grace is quite the free spirit,” she said. “I must admit, she takes after my father in that regard. I didn’t anticipate it, but looking at her now, I can see where she got it from – my dad.

26-year-old Grace particularly enjoys spending time with animals, expressing that living in a zoo environment allows her to play and have plenty of fun due to the freedom it provides.

On occasion, their daughter shows a bold streak. “She says she wants to climb higher in the tree,” or “she insists she can do it alone, that she’s okay,” Bindi shared. “But I reply, ‘You’re only four. Let’s discuss this first.’

Fortunately for me, as an ardent fan, it’s heartening to see that Robert Irwin, son of Steve and Terri Irwin, doesn’t shy away from diving headfirst into adventures alongside his niece, as they delve deep into the captivating world of our beloved zoo.

As Grace matures, she seems to become even more eager for Uncle Robert’s escapades,” Bindi expressed. “He tends to test boundaries a bit, but in a fun and thrilling way. That’s why she adores it. Plus, he is incredibly attentive towards her, which I admire greatly.

The energy that Robert, 31, has with Grace reminds Bindi a lot of their dad, who died in 2006.

She remembered that he often surprised us by suggesting impromptu hikes, like one time when he said, “Alright, let’s go hike up this mountain,” as we were on our way to the Simpson Desert for snake research. Without hesitation, we’d follow suit, and it felt routine to us.

Bindi remarked, “Dad was quite the explorer, and I can definitely see that trait in Robert. They are very much alike, Dad. I’m thrilled that Grace will also experience that zest for life, just as she would have with Dad.

It doesn’t mean that the Irwins are neglecting Steve’s memory; on the contrary, they have given him a suitable nickname for Grace to address him by, honoring his legacy in their own way.

She referred to him as “Grandpa Crocodile,” she explained. It’s delightful because she gets to enjoy his documentaries and it’s quite unique. However, Robert seems to infuse that fun and adventure into our lives, particularly hers. It’s truly wonderful. So I am extremely thankful for him.

It doesn’t mean that the Irwins have forgotten about Steve; on the contrary, they have given him an appropriate name that Grace can use, in honor of his memory.

She penned down, “A few weeks prior to the significant event, she expressed her gratitude. Every day, I’m thankful for you. To me, you are a constant source of sunshine.
