Roguelike action game Reverie in the Moonlight announced for PC

Room6, both publisher and developer, has unveiled “Reverie in the Moonlight“, an upcoming roguelike action game. In this game, players team up with their plush companions to fend off nightly monster attacks. The game is set for release on PC via Steam in 2025.

In the soft glow of moonlight, you find yourself immersed in a unique action game. You’re not alone; your beloved stuffed animals are there to aid you. Together, you stand guard against the relentless horde of monsters that invade your peaceful nights.

Nightly Visits

Nights for me, Little Tete, have been a toss between dread and sleeplessness, as my dreams are haunted by terrifying monsters. Yet, one fateful night, I encountered Luna, who imparted upon me the secret of using my cuddly plushies as shields against these nightmares.

Cute But Strong

In a scary situation involving a monster, Tete’s only option is to flee. Interestingly, his plush toys have the ability to combat and conquer monsters instead! Each animal has its unique role: some excel in close-combat, others in ranged attacks, while others support their teammates. You can pick from 40 different types of these heroes to shield Tete from the approaching monsters. Choose your preferred characters and aid them in their defense!

  • Ham Jr. – Runs left and right, hitting monsters that get too close with a stick.
  • Snoozy-G – Enjoys sleeping, napping, and resting. Monsters that hit it are slowed down for a while.
  • Striped Angel – When it sees someone in trouble, it always wants to help. It heals Tete up from a distance.

Collect and Strategize

Once the monsters’ onslaught has subsided, you will have an opportunity to shop using the gold you’ve discovered. You can purchase new plush toys and also acquire unique items that could boost your power. However, some of these items may introduce new vulnerabilities too, so it’s essential for you to strategize effectively and prepare for the next assault thoughtfully. The game features over 100 such items… Will you manage to gather them all?

Change Clothes to Change Strategies

So, you’ve played the game’s story to the end. Well done. But this is just the start!

You have the option to switch Tete’s outfits, with over twenty options available. Each outfit has unique properties that make him stronger in certain areas but also weaker in others. To assist Tete in overcoming his nightmares, you’ll need to select the appropriate plushies and accessories for each costume!

  • Moonlight Wizard – Plushies with long-range attacks become stronger, but Tete can only use those. Defending yourself becomes harder, so you’ll have to defeat monsters before they can get close.
  • Nap Cloud – Increasing attack power becomes difficult, but plushies that don’t move around attack twice as fast. Try to find as many stationary friends as you can.
  • Doggy Friend – Tete can only use dog plushies. If you want to win, you’ll need to make good use of their fast respawn speed.
