Will there be another James Bond movie?

Delightfully, it’s been confirmed that James Bond will appear in a new film, given the dramatic conclusion of No Time To Die.
Despite the main character being engulfed in flames by the movie’s finale, it nonetheless ended with a straightforward sentiment: “007 is coming back.
Just as we’ve seen before, it’s anticipated that the franchise will be revitalized, leaving the timeline of the Daniel Craig movies behind and introducing a fresh Bond character along with a new set of stories.
Bond 26 release date speculation
In 2021, we expressed our belief that fans might not need to endure such an extended wait for Bond 26 compared to the six years they experienced between Spectre and No Time to Die.
Regrettably, it seems that the path to the release of the next James Bond movie has been quite bumpy, with a significant gap between No Time to Die and its successor even as we near the summer of 2025, and unfortunately, production on this new film hasn’t yet begun.
To put it simply, there had been no significant progress regarding the upcoming film for quite some time. However, things began to pick up steam around the start of this year following a major announcement.
In February, news broke that Amazon’s MGM Studios had gained creative authority for the James Bond series. As part of a fresh partnership aimed at managing the franchise’s intellectual property rights, Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson, who have long been associated with production, are stepping aside.
In simpler terms, this implies that both Broccoli and Wilson retain their ownership stake in the franchise together with Amazon, but Amazon MGM Studios now holds the creative control rights.
Upon the reveal of the agreement, Mike Hopkins, leader of Prime Video and Amazon Studios (MGM), expressed in a statement: “For more than six decades, James Bond has been a timeless character synonymous with cinematic excellence.
We owe a debt of gratitude to Albert R Broccoli (deceased) and Harry Saltzman for introducing James Bond to cinemas globally, and to Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli for their tireless commitment and significant role in preserving and building upon the beloved franchise that entertains millions worldwide.
It’s a privilege to carry on this cherished legacy, and we eagerly anticipate introducing the next exciting chapter of the iconic James Bond to global viewers.
Simultaneously, Broccoli expressed: “I’ve spent my life upholding and expanding the remarkable inheritance bestowed upon Michael and myself by our producer father, Cubby Broccoli.
I’ve been privileged to work intimately with four incredibly gifted actors who portrayed James Bond, as well as countless other talented individuals in this field. With the end of No Time to Die and Michael stepping away from the movies, I believe it’s now appropriate for me to devote my attention to my other endeavors.
Wilson stated: “Given that my 007 role has been ongoing for almost 60 amazing years, I’ve decided to shift my focus towards artistic and philanthropic endeavors. Consequently, Barbara and I concur that it’s appropriate for our reliable partner, Amazon MGM Studios, to guide James Bond into the next chapter.
Later in that same month, I found myself pondering, “We haven’t quite decided on our next big theme just yet.” There’s still no one who has crafted the narrative of where we’re heading next.
It appears that the actual production of the upcoming Bond movie is about to start, but don’t expect it to hit theaters anytime soon.
Based on our current understanding, we propose a tentative release year for the film to be around 2027. Yet, there’s a possibility that it might get delayed until 2028.
We’ll make sure to provide any new information about the upcoming installment of the franchise, including its release date, as soon as we receive it.
Who will be the next James Bond?

Discussions about who might take over as the new James Bond from Daniel Craig seem to have been ongoing for ages, and even though an announcement is inevitable, it still feels like we haven’t learned much more than we did back then, four years ago.
Among the names frequently mentioned in recent gossip is Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who starred in “28 Days Later.” In 2024, whispers circulated that he was given the part, with various reports suggesting a potential casting.
So far, there’s been no official announcement regarding Taylor-Johnson becoming Bond. However, recent changes might suggest that things could go either way – it’s possible these changes have benefited him, and we might hear about his casting as Bond eventually. Alternatively, it’s also possible that his name is no longer being considered for the role.
Should he remain a candidate, it’s likely he’ll be delighted to learn that he has the support of former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan. Brosnan shared with Yahoo! that he believes Taylor-Johnson would do an excellent job in the role.
He mentioned that he had cast one of his old movie actors in a film titled “The Greatest,” where the actor played the role of ‘the Greatest.’ This young man, upon arriving on set, truly seized the moment with an abundance of passion and energy. In my opinion, if he desired it, pursued it diligently, and worked hard for it, he would undoubtedly excel.
Stars who were previously mentioned as possibilities besides the ones here are Tom Hardy, Regé-Jean Page, Henry Cavill, Idris Elba, and Sam Heughan.
Lately, there’s been a lot of talk about James Norton, but he himself has denied being cast or even being considered for any roles.
In simpler terms, actor Henry Golding from the show Nine Perfect Strangers expressed gratitude for being involved in projects like it, stating, “it’s an honor to be part of such conversations.” Similarly, Leo Woodall from One Day shared that although he hasn’t received a call yet, he would jump at the opportunity to play a role similar to James Bond.
Josh O’Connor has expressed that he hasn’t given any consideration to speculations suggesting his potential involvement, clarifying that if he’s been selected for a role, he remains unaware of it. On the other hand, Luke Evans finds it astonishing to be included in fan-casting or rumors, expressing delight over the idea that people view him as a suitable candidate for roles, even as a gay man, which, according to him, signifies the advancement we’re witnessing in representation.
As a fervent enthusiast, I must admit that the identity of those potentially involved remains uncertain at this point. Fingers crossed, we anticipate unveiling definite information in the near future. Rest assured, as soon as we have solid updates, we’ll promptly share them on this page.
Who could be in the Bond 26 cast?
As a movie enthusiast, I’m pondering over the question of whether the beloved supporting cast from Daniel Craig’s era will continue their journey with the Bond series now that he’s moving on. It’s intriguing to consider if they’ll stay or have already bid their farewells. Just like Judi Dench, who has graced our screens as M alongside multiple Bond actors in the past, we’re left wondering if she’ll share scenes with the next 007. Time will tell!
As a movie enthusiast, I’ve been fortunate to see some remarkable talents gracing the Bond franchise throughout Daniel Craig’s tenure. Actors like Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, Lea Seydoux, and Rory Kinnear have left an indelible mark on numerous films in this era. Most recently, Lashana Lynch and Ana De Armas stole the show in their first appearances as 007 agents in No Time To Die.
It appears that a complete renewal may be imminent, given that the Craig era marked the start of a more consistent period in our history.
2024 found me expressing doubts about my involvement in the following movie, musing aloud, “It seems they’re planning to begin anew with an entirely fresh ensemble of actors. That’s just a gut feeling I have.
He indicated that, given the opportunity, he would undoubtedly play Q once more. However, he feels that the character might benefit from a fresh start and a completely new cast. In his opinion, this could be beneficial for the role.
We will ensure that this page remains current by providing updates whenever we receive further details on potential returning actors in the Bond series, along with any news regarding new cast additions.
Who will direct Bond 26?
As of now, there’s no announcement regarding who will direct Bond 26, but it’s clear that Amy Pascal and David Heyman are the ones overseeing its production.
In March 2025, it was revealed that the teams behind Spider-Man and Harry Potter would be contributing to the franchise. They made this announcement together, stating in their shared statement: “We are thrilled to be joining the project.
Upon the announcement, Pascal and Heyman shared a unified declaration, stating: “James Bond stands as one of the most enduring figures in film history.
It’s an honor and a privilege to carry on the tradition set by Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson, whose remarkable films have left a lasting impact. We feel deeply humbled and are thrilled to preserve the essence of Bond, ensuring that his next journey continues with the same spirit and excitement.
Back in April, I found myself immersed in the bustling world of movie production as Amazon MGM’s head of film, streaming, and theatrical, Courtenay Valenti, made an exciting revelation at CinemaCon. She shared that the dynamic duo, Pascal and Heyman, were already hard at work in the heart of London, laying the groundwork for their upcoming project.
In the near future, they are undecided about whom they will select as their director, and it remains uncertain in which direction they will move or whom they will consult.
As a devoted cinema enthusiast, I’ve often found myself speculating about Christopher Nolan potentially joining the Bond franchise, given his renowned directorial skills and apparent affection for the genre. However, with him currently engrossed in filming The Odyssey, it appears that for now, he may not be an option.
Instead, maybe they could consider approaching Martin Campbell, a director known for launching the eras of both Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig as James Bond, for guidance instead.
Previously, he expressed that he wouldn’t reject the opportunity of coming back, further mentioning, “What matters is that I adore Bond. Bond is a part of my childhood memories, dating back to Dr. No, when I accompanied my mother to watch it.
It appears that Campbell might be the preferred option over Nolan. However, considering the frequent assertions that Pascal and Heyman aim for a new perspective in the franchise, one may wonder if they’re planning to return to previous filmmakers so swiftly?
Among the names being tossed around are Edward Berger from Conclave, although he himself denies any truth to speculation that he might direct the next movie; and Kelly Marcel, director of Venom: The Last Dance, who finds it remarkable to be mentioned among possible candidates for a future director role.
Regardless of who eventually assumes the role, it’s crucial to note that another significant appointment must be filled in the background. This is because casting director Debbie McWilliams, known for her work on the last 13 James Bond movies, has decided to retire from her position.
