It is here that he acquires combat skills and learns to take lives, under the tutelage of Yao Fei Gulong, a one-time Chinese military general who also finds himself on Lian Yu. The experienced Yao Fei instructs Oliver in the art of using a bow and arrow, a weapon less potent than a firearm yet possessing its own merits. Upon his return to Starling City in Arrow Season 1, Oliver embarks on a journey to rectify his father’s mistakes and adopts the bow and arrow as his distinctive tool.

Despite facing adversaries who were more powerful, Oliver persisted with his bow, opting to adapt his arrows to suit the challenging scenarios he encountered. Over the course of his journey through the Arrowverse, he demonstrated an impressive array of ingenious and effective trick arrows.
