Warning: This story contains spoilers for the Ginny & Georgia season three finale.
The Mayoress Murderess might be off the hook for murder—but now Georgia’s expecting trouble.
In a surprising turn of events, season three of “Ginny & Georgia,” streaming on Netflix starting June 5, concluded with Georgia (played by Brianne Howey) being found not guilty for the murder of Tom Fuller. This unexpected verdict was reached after Ginny (Antonia Gentry) convinced her younger brother Austin (Diesel La Torraca) to fabricate a story, testifying that it was Gil (Aaron Ashmore), not Georgia, who had killed Tom by suffocating him.
Initially, it appeared that the life of the mother of two was finding stability. But in the last moments of the season, a significant surprise was revealed: Georgia is pregnant. With Georgia having recently slept with both her former husband Mayor Paul (Scott Porter) and longtime friend Joe (Raymond Ablack), the question arises…who is the baby’s father?
The family drama in Georgia’s life isn’t over yet, as Ginny’s father, Nathan Mitchell (Nathan Mitchell), informed Georgia that he intends to contest for joint physical custody of their teenage daughter. To make matters even more shocking, the final scene of the episode revealed Georgia’s long-estranged and abusive mother and stepfather passing by her home.
Absolutely, amidst the whirlwind of her mother’s murder trial and acquittal, it’s no secret that Ginny finds herself entwined in the typical tumult of adolescence – primarily concerning the status of my cherished connection with Marcus (Felix Mallard). Sharing a passionate kiss between us was one thing, but Marcus’s descent into depression and alcoholism reached a breaking point in the finale. It all culminated in an emotionally charged, drunken outburst that led to his mother enrolling him in rehab for the summer. I can hardly contain my anticipation for what unfolds next!
As a die-hard fan, I’ve been closely following the storyline of Ginny and her friends, particularly the MANG group. It seems they’re grappling with their own share of cracks within their circle. Ginny, my beloved character, confided in best friend Max (Sara Waisglass) that perhaps it was time for them to take a step back from each other. However, Max is going through a tough time dealing with her mental health issues and yearns for support.
Meanwhile, Katie Douglas (Abby) continues to conceal her battle with bulimia as she departs for sleepaway camp, while Chelsea Clark (Norah) struggles to maintain her friendship with Ginny and remains wary of Georgia. As MANG prepares to enter their junior year in the fall, tensions are running high during their summer vacation.
Fortunately, fans won’t need to endure much more anticipation, as the series was renewed for a fourth season as early as May 2023, alongside the confirmation of season three. This implies that the mystery surrounding Georgia’s baby’s father will finally be unveiled.
According to Sarah Lampert in an interview with Entertainment Weekly on June 6th, there was a discussion about the direction of the storylines due to the identity of the child. However, she clarified that they have made a decision regarding this matter.
