Techland drops a new trailer for Dying Light: The Beast with a release date during Summer Game Fest

As a tech enthusiast, I’m thoroughly enjoying this year’s Summer Game Fest! Among the numerous game premieres, what’s caught my eye is the new trailer from Techland for the upcoming third installment of the Dying Light franchise – “Dying Light: The Beast.” Mark your calendars because it’s set to release on August 22, 2023!

The latest trailer not only disclosed the release date, but also offered a sneak peek into what’s in store for us in Dying Light: The Beast. This game is eagerly awaited as it marks the comeback of the Dying Light series, which started off as an expansion and eventually grew into a complete independent title. It features Kyle Crane, a beloved character from the original Dying Light, once again engaging in parkour adventures amidst a zombie-ridden post-apocalyptic landscape.

In a fresh twist, Crane won’t just be leaping across rooftops; he’ll also show off his parking skills (sort of)! Yes, there were scenes of driving vehicles amidst intense gunfights in the game.

Dying Light 2’s predecessor, Dying Light, was unexpectedly short on guns, which upset many fans of the game. However, Techland later rectified this issue through updates. In the latest trailer, they emphasized firearms to assure their fans that the team behind Dying Light won’t repeat past errors.

There’s still uncertainty about what fans can look forward to when Dying Light: The Beast is released in August, as Techland hasn’t disclosed the game’s price yet. However, it has been confirmed that those who bought Dying Light 2’s Ultimate Edition will get access to Dying Light: The Beast for free, possibly because the expansion was originally planned during the early stages of Dying Light 2.

Techland recently offered glimpses into the work-in-progress stages of a forthcoming hands-on demo for Dying Light: The Beast. Expect to see and hear more as we approach the game’s August launch.
