As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share the news about Night Street Games, a studio co-founded by Imagine Dragons’ manager Mac Reynolds and frontman Dan Reynolds. They’ve unveiled their upcoming project, Last Flag, which is a five-versus-five, capture-the-flag-style third-person shooter. This exciting game is slated for release in 2026, though the specific consoles haven’t been disclosed yet. However, you can get an early taste by signing up for playtesting directly on the game’s official website!
In a press statement, Night Street Games CEO Mac Reynolds shared that when he was in third grade, his dream job was to run a video game studio. This ambition, though seemingly precise, seemed genuine. Dan and he would often play capture the flag at night in the woods with flashlights, friends, and high levels of excitement. The game they’re developing now, Last Flag, is their tribute to preserving the innocence and enchantment of that hide-and-seek adventure, made possible by the talented team they are fortunate to collaborate with.
Here is an overview of the game, via Night Street Games:
About
In the year 197X, the disco is shimmering, the audience is buzzing, as the grandest televised contest on Earth is moments away from starting.
Welcome to Last Flag—the game where fame, fortune, and your flag are all up for grabs.
Two teams. Two hidden flags. One shot at immortality.
Stash your flag. Find theirs. Snatch it. Run it back. Win.
The world is watching, so don’t forget to do it with style.
This isn’t war. This is showbiz.
Last Flag is a thrilling, five-versus-five team shooter that originates from Night Street Games, a studio jointly established by Mac and Dan Reynolds (yes, the Imagine Dragons bandmates). This game places Capture The Flag (CTF) at its core, offering an exciting, action-packed experience lasting approximately 20 minutes. It’s filled with nail-biting comebacks, last-minute victories, and heart-pounding moments.
You’re not disqualified; instead, you exit the stage temporarily, only to regroup in the waiting area. From there, you can swiftly return to operating a radar tower or head directly back to your base. (FWOOMP is used here as an onomatopoeic term for reappearing quickly.)
In a vibrant, disco-era-inspired cosmos, the game Last Flag places you in the role of a contestant on the globe’s most popular television game show, overseen by the enigmatic broadcasting tycoon named Victor Fex.
As soon as filming begins, athletes sprint onto an open field to conceal their own team’s banner while simultaneously searching for the opponent’s position by managing radar stations and scrutinizing the numerous secretive corners and recesses on the map.
When recording starts, players quickly run outdoors to hide their team’s flag and find where the other team is by using radars and looking in hidden areas of the map.
Capture the flag. Haul it home. Defend it for one minute to win it.
Regardless if you’re reveling in your triumph or grooving to the rhythm of a loss, there’s always the option to try again.
Key Features
- CTF is the Main Event – Built from the ground up for Capture the Flag. Every mechanic—from sneaky flag placement to radar tower intel—is designed to create strategic tension, dramatic reversals, and last-second heroics.
- 10 Contestants, 10 Big Personalities – From Masako, the heavy metal archer who screams as loud as she strikes, to Parker, the speedy scout and his trusty cybernetic falcon, every Contestant brings a distinct vibe, playstyle, and dramatic flair. Whether you’re stealing flags as Soo-Jin, the stealthy master thief, or locking enemies down with Julius Reeves’ Jail Cell—you can dig it—this crew was built to steal the show.
- Themed Maps Set the Stage for Epic Action – Each colorful outdoor map was built to encourage exploration, thrilling team fights, and offers plenty of out-of-the-way hiding spots for concealing the flag. But it’s not all sunshine and rainbows in Last Flag… there may be more than meets the eye.
- Original Soundtrack by Dan Reynolds and Friends – Fuzzy guitars, analog synths, and legit 1970s studio magic, crafted with real vintage gear by Dan, Grammy-nominated producer / writer JT Daly (Benson Boone, K.Flay, Bully), and Night Street Games’ own soundsmith Dave Lowmiller (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Battlefield, Dead Space).
- Casually Competitive – No pressure. This isn’t a sweaty tactical shooter. It’s tight, fast, and fun gameplay that’s easy to jump into and hard to put down.
