Love Island USA’s Yulissa Escobar Breaks Silence After Exit From Show

Yulissa Escobar is speaking out after exiting the Love Island USA villa.

In simpler terms, the television personality publicly spoke out about her exit from the NBC show following only two episodes, which occurred due to criticism she faced online after old podcast recordings showed her using a racially insensitive term multiple times.

She expressed her apologies on Instagram on June 6th, acknowledging she had no right to use a specific word in videos she shared. The word she used was a racial slur, one she should have never used due to its heavy history and the pain it causes. While she didn’t intend to be offensive or hurtful, she now realizes that good intentions don’t diminish the impact of such words.

27-year-old Escobar admitted that she was unaware of the situation back then, but now she’s striving to learn and evolve from the experience.

She went on to say, ‘I’ve undergone a significant transformation since that time; it’s not just about how I communicate, but also about my presence, my demeanor, and my respect for others’ feelings. Growth, for me, involves acknowledging past mistakes, even if they make me feel uneasy, and proceeding with humility and accountability.’

To those feeling let down or upset, allow me to express my empathy and offer an apology. I sincerely regret any discomfort caused.

Before Escobar departed, she was in a relationship with fellow competitor Ace Green, who remains at the villa. The other remaining participants include Chelley Bissainthe, Huda Mustafa, Belle-A Walker, Olandria Carthen, Taylor Williams, Nicolas Vansteenberghe, Austin Shepard, and Jeremiah Brown. Additionally, Charlie Georgiou and Cierra Ortega, the latest arrivals, have joined as bombshell contestants.

During the June 4th installment of the show, the narrator, Iain Stirling, mentioned in passing that Escobar had already departed from the dating series by the time her fellow contestants awoke.

“Yulissa,” he declared in a voiceover, “has left the villa.”
