Team Cherry’s anticipated title, Hollow Knight: Silksong, didn’t get any updates at Summer Game Fest, but fortunately, Yacht Club Games announced a release date for their retro Zelda-esque action-adventure game, Mina the Hollower. Excitingly, it will be available on October 31st across multiple platforms including Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. A free demo is currently accessible on Steam. You can watch the latest trailer below for a sneak peek.
On an enchanted island shrouded in Gothic Victorian mystery, the game Mina the Hollower challenges you to rescue its inhabitants using a diverse arsenal of weapons and tools. From an overhead viewpoint, its graphics harken back to the golden age of 8-bit gaming, while Jake Kaufman infuses the soundtrack with the spirit of the MSX era.
Since its reach expanded considerably last year, it’s intriguing to find out how much larger it is compared to Shovel Knight. The demo offers the initial stages and the first encounter with a boss, with the progress carrying over to the full game. However, this demo will only be accessible until June 16th when the Steam Next Fest concludes. Keep an eye out for further updates in the upcoming months.
