As a passionate admirer, I’m thrilled to share that Nyamakop, a talented South African developer, has unveiled “Relooted,” a groundbreaking game set in an Africanfuturist landscape. In this captivating title, you embark on a mission to strategize, traverse with parkour finesse, and reclaim authentic African artifacts that have been wrongfully seized by Western museums. Excitingly, “Relooted” is slated for release on Xbox Series and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, though an official launch date hasn’t been revealed yet. I, for one, can hardly wait!

About

A group of individuals, each hailing from various African nations and holding ordinary day jobs, have a mission: to retrieve African artifacts currently housed in Western museums. Instead of a typical heist, this operation promises unique twists and turns. It’s your task to devise the strategy for this unconventional endeavor.

Toward the end of the 21st century, powerful political entities agreed on the Transatlantic Repatriation Treaty, pledging to return African artifacts from museums. However, traditional diplomacy faltered – a change in the terms and conditions of which objects could be returned was proposed through an amendment. With the new understanding that only publicly displayed items would be returned, museums gradually took down artifacts from public view.

When life offers you lemons and certain museums engage in questionable practices, it’s time to send those lemons back at life and opt for a more covert approach to diplomacy instead. You have 70 artifacts to recover, each one of which holds immense cultural, historical, and spiritual value for the communities they were taken from in reality.

Teamwork Makes The Heist Work

The adventure kicks off with a mischievous little sibling, always leading you into various predicaments. However, fear not, as Nomali, you’ll encounter trustworthy teammates hailing from diverse African nations. You’ll even find yourself adding an unexpected member to your crew – from the conventional hacker to your respectable grandmother! Rest assured, grandma proves her worth in this endeavor.

Prepare thoughtfully to establish a solid foundation for a stunning work of art – an intricate puzzle escape. Scout out the exit path, tinker with conundrums and barriers, and pinpoint locations where you can enlist the aid of suitable allies.

After taking great care to arrange everything neatly and ensuring the artifact looks untouched, it’s time for action. Lifting the artifact initiates the timer, and with Nomali’s parkour skills that seamlessly blend movements, escaping will be like being in a thrilling heist film montage.
