Resident Evil Requiem Ushers in a “New Era of Survival Horror,” Says Capcom

At the recently held Summer Game Fest event, Capcom unveiled their long-awaited project, Resident Evil Requiem. The initial trailer was nothing short of spectacular, offering fans a glimpse into the life of Grace Ashcroft, the daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft from Resident Evil Outbreak. Moreover, it hinted at fresh terrors and a revisit to Raccoon City.

On its official site, Capcom’s tagline for the sequel is cryptically stated as “Requiem for the dead. Nightmare for the living.” This implies that the game may keep crucial information hidden but promises to be a terrifying ordeal. Furthermore, it hinted that fans should brace themselves for an adrenaline-pumping experience designed to send shivers down their spine by narrowly evading death.

Beyond just stating that, they’re emphasizing it as a “groundbreaking phase for survival horror” and suggesting that “cutting-edge technology” combined with the team’s expertise will lead to a narrative brimming with “deeply developed characters” and gameplay that promises an “unprecedented level of immersion.

Information about the specifics of gameplay and what players can expect (apart from exploring Wrenwood Hotel as Grace to uncover a murder) remains scarce. However, additional details are set to be disclosed prior to launch, including a demonstration at Gamescom in August, where Requiem will be playable for the first time.

Mark your calendars! On February 27th, 2026, I’ll be diving back into the terrifying world of Resident Evil with ‘Resident Evil Requiem’. This thrilling adventure will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. In the meantime, I can hardly wait for more exciting updates to drop!
