Ready or Not 2: Shocking Filming Wrap and Release Date Revealed!

Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett first showcased their directorial skills in the 2014 movie, “Devil’s Due.” However, it was their 2019 film, “Ready or Not,” that truly established them as innovative geniuses in contemporary horror cinema. Their impressive work on this film earned them the opportunity to direct “Scream” (2022), which they delivered exceptionally well. It’s also worth noting that Samara Weaving solidified her status as one of the top scream queens following her captivating performance in the lead role of “The Babysitter.” Since the release of their 2019 hit movie, “Ready or Not,” the production company Radio Silence has gone on to direct “Scream” (2022), its sequel “Scream VI,” and the upcoming film “Abigail,” all of which are highly acclaimed horror productions.

For them, the next venture is undeniably titled “Ready or Not 2: Here I Come“. This project reunites them with Samara Weaving from the original film and Scream VI, as well as Kathryn Newton who played Abigail in the series, and Kevin Durand.

When Is Ready or Not 2 Hitting Theaters?

The sequel to “Ready or Not 2: Here I Come” was officially confirmed during a screening of the first movie in October 2024. Fans are thrilled as production has wrapped up and we’re now eagerly waiting for its release on April 10, 2026.

The Instagram account for the movie “Ready or Not” announced that filming is complete with a pair of posts showing Weaving and Newton. Notably, Weaving’s character Grace Maccaullay can be seen wearing a wedding dress that was previously stained with blood at the end of the first film. It has been disclosed that “Here I Come” continues directly from where the story of the first film ended, and these pictures now support this fact.

It’s great to receive a clue about the upcoming movie as there isn’t much information available beyond what these shared posts reveal. To clarify, Sarah Michelle Gellar (from Scream 2), Elijah Wood (Yellowjackets), Shawn Hatosy (The Pitt), Néstor Carbonell (The Dark Knight), and the renowned horror director David Cronenberg (The Fly) are among the new additions to the Ready or Not family for the sequel.

In late April, Radio Silence announced their eagerness to revisit the universe of “Ready or Not” alongside actress Samara Weaving. They expressed great enthusiasm about collaborating with this highly skilled cast and a host of talented professionals joining the “Ready or Not” team. Meanwhile, President of Searchlight Pictures, Matthew Greenfield, conveyed his team’s immense excitement to work again with Radio Silence on another film featuring the outstanding Samara Weaving, along with some exciting new faces. He stated that they would deliver a unique take on the story, maintaining the original’s twisted and entertaining qualities for both long-time fans and those who didn’t anticipate it coming.

After a span of more than five years since the first movie was released, followed by its sequel’s announcement, it appears that few people anticipated the arrival of Here I Come. However, with its imminent arrival, there’s a strong sense of collaboration among the team, which gives us reason to believe that it will be as remarkable as the original film.
