Here is an overview of the collection, via Red Art Games:
About
The Joe & Mac Retro Collection, created by Red Art Studios (the internal studio of Red Art Games), is a collection of the original Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja, Congo’s Caper, and Joe & Mac 2: Lost in the Tropics. These games were developed by Data East and initially released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System from 1991 to 1995. In Japan, these titles are part of the Tatakae Genshijin franchise.
- Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja – A run-and-gun platformer that follows the titular Joe and Mac as they fight through 12 hellish levels using prehistoric (but not just) tools and weapons. While the game was censored when it came out in the west, the Retro Collection also includes the original Japanese version!
- Congo’s Caper – A side-scrolling action platformer centered around Congo, a half-human, half-monkey boy looking to rescue his girlfriend from a demon through 35 varied levels.
- Joe & Mac 2: Lost in the Tropics – This title adds a light roleplaying aspect to the series. While the goal is still to defeat cavemen and dinosaurs, players can court and wed their Stone Age girlfriend, and even have a child with her!
Besides offering players a chance to relive the classic games as they first appeared in the ’90s, the Joe & Mac Retro Collection additionally boasts several enhancements designed for an improved gaming experience!
