How to Start the Atomfall: Wicked Isle DLC

As a thrilled enthusiast, I’d like to share a tip for diving into the Wicked Isle DLC: Remember to either start a fresh game or load a save before wrapping up the main story. Failing to do so will result in an “Downloadable Content Unavailable” message popping up. So, let’s ensure we don’t miss out on this exciting adventure!

  • Step 1: Travel to Wyndham Village

Head towards Wyndham Village from Slatten Dale (the game’s initial location). The route is marked at coordinates 29.0E, 79.4N.

At your destination, find the walled entrance with a loudspeaker. Press the large green metal doors to gain entry.

  • Step 2: Find Bill Anderson

Make your way to Wyndham Village docks, located at 33.9E, 80.1N. You can find this location on the Wyndham Village map, marked with a question mark and labeled as “Midsummer Isle”. Upon reaching the docks, character Bill Anderson will greet you. Interact with him to start your adventure.

Note: If Bill doesn’t appear at the dock, save your game, exit, and reload. If he still isn’t there, see my notes at the bottom of this page for further assistance.

  • Step 3: Accept Bill’s offer

I’d be delighted if Bill could give me a ride to Midsummer Isle! I’m more than happy to lend a hand with whatever task he needs once we get there, since I can’t make it without his help as he has the Boatman’s Map needed for the boat.

  • Step 4: Arrive at Midsummer Isle

Upon setting foot on the enchanting island, I found myself reconnecting with Bill once more. In our conversation, he handed over the elusive Boatman’s Map and gave me a heads up about the Old Abbey – a notable landmark not to be missed. This interaction marked the beginning of my questline for the Wicked Isle DLC, hinting at potential dangers lurking in the Abandoned Village, my first exploration zone. Brace yourself, hostile adversaries may lie in wait!

You can return to Wyndham Village at any time by using Bill’s boat once you have the Boatman’s Map.

Downloadable content unavailable message in Atomfall

If you’ve played Atomfall and are attempting to access the Wicked Isle DLC, be aware that a “downloadable content unavailable” message might appear. This indicates that the saved game you’re using is beyond the point of no return in the main story. If you have killed Oberon or even opened the door leading to his location, you will be locked out of the DLC. The game does alert you that this is a point of no return, but unfortunately it does prevent access to the DLC.

However, if you’re absolutely certain your save is before the point of no return and still encounter the “downloadable content not available” message, here’s a workaround: save at the boat dock, exit the game (dashboard), then reload the game. In most cases, Bill should now be present.
