Among the intriguing revelations from the latest Future Game Show was the announcement by Out of the Blue Games, creators of the first-person adventure game “Call of the Sea”. They unveiled a follow-up titled “Call of the Elder Gods“, slated for release on Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, and PC. Take a look at the initial trailer below.
The narrative centers around Professor Harry Everhart (played by Yuri Lowenthal) and his pupil Evangeline Drayton (Cissy Jones). After uncovering an artifact some years back, they start experiencing strange hallucinations and nightmares. To make matters worse, their family members have mysteriously vanished. Consequently, they set out on a thrilling journey across various continents, including New England and the Australian wilderness, to unravel the mystery behind these events.
Indeed, as suggested by its title, powerful Eldritch entities could be part of the story and might not allow them to depart unscathed, mentally speaking. In development using Unreal Engine 5, Call of the Elder Gods invites players to seek out clues, solve intricate puzzles, grapple with “mind-bending mysteries” through Occult Books, and much more. Keep an eye out for further announcements, including a potential release date, in the upcoming months.
