The fourth season of “Trigger Point,” Vicky McClure’s bomb disposal thriller, will air on ITV in the future, as the network has already renewed it, even before the third season has been broadcast.
The show, produced by Jed Mercurio, is centered around Lana Washington, portrayed by McClure, who is an expert in defusing explosives. She’s in a race against time as she works to disarm a sequence of synchronized dangers spreading throughout London.
In Seasons 1 and 2, different antagonists were at play, yet they inflicted heavy damage on Lana, as she faced the distressing situation of losing or having her loved ones put in danger during the escalating series of attacks that grew more and more personal.
The third installment of our TV show has just finished shooting in London, set to premiere this fall; it’s evident that ITV is optimistic about these episodes delivering ratings comparable to the first two seasons.
Back in early 2024, I was thrilled to witness the phenomenal success of Trigger Point season 2, which captivated an astounding 8.1 million viewers per episode! To add to this, it was streamed a staggering 30 million times on ITVX. The anticipation for more has been palpable among us fans, and I’m overjoyed to share that we can look forward to another installment in 2026 – chapter four of this gripping series!
ITV’s Director of Drama Polly Hill expressed her joy over the return of “Trigger Point” for its fourth season, as it was one of ITV’s top-rated dramas last year following “Mr Bates vs The Post Office.
I’m confident that viewers will find themselves at the edge of their seats, eagerly anticipating what happens next, as Lana and her crew guide us through another pulse-pounding adventure designed to protect our capital.

McClure stated: “We’re all excited that ITV trusts this series enough to order a fourth installment before the third one has even been broadcast. It’s fantastic working with the team, we have a great time producing the show and I can’t wait to see more of Lana’s story unfold in Trigger Point.
In the upcoming season 4 of Trigger Point, the actors involved will hinge upon those who survive the events of chapter 3, as prior seasons have shown no hesitation in eliminating significant characters suddenly. The author responsible for the third installment is Chris Brandon, known for his work on Bloodlands.
