Kathie Lee Gifford has a new grandchild.
31-year-old Cassidy Gifford, the TV personality’s daughter, has now officially announced the birth of her second child with husband Ben Wierda. The actress from The Baxters series made this joyous announcement a few days following their daughter Rosie’s arrival on June 3.
Cassidy posted on Instagram on June 6, sharing a monochrome maternity photo and a heartwarming image of her holding little Rosie’s hand. “Rosie Mae Wierda,” she declared, “was born at 9:59 am on 06/03/2025. You are the answer to countless prayers, sweet Rosie.
She continued, “We love you so much. 1 Samuel 1:27.”
In June 2023, the pair who got married in 2020 became parents to their firstborn son named Finn (age 23 months). Cassidy, at that moment, posted a picture featuring Finn’s feet in her hands on social media and captioned it: “Our entire universe. Finn Thomas Wierda, born on June 24th, 2023. We are deeply enamored with you, little one. Thank you, Lord, for this extraordinary blessing.
Nevertheless, Cassidy isn’t Kathie Lee’s sole grandchild. Her son Cody Gifford and his wife Erika are also parents to Frankie (age 3) and Ford (17 months), with another child expected soon.
For Kathie, her role as grandma is perhaps her most important yet.
Previously on “Today,” the host expressed her affection for her grandchildren, emphasizing that each moment spent with them is precious and holds extra significance because they carry on a part of her late spouse, Frank Gifford, who sadly passed away in 2015.
She shared with Today in 2022, “I immediately took a liking to Frank as I’m fond of babies,” she said after the birth of her grandchild. “However, this is my son’s child – my husband’s grandson. It’s all so intricately woven, a beautiful testament to life and creation.
Meanwhile, Rosie is Kathie’s first grandchild. When the co-host of Live with Regis and Kathie Lee initially looked forward to becoming a grandmother, she expressed that she would be content regardless of her grandkids’ gender. She voiced this sentiment on X (previously known as Twitter) in December 2021, saying, “I am beyond excited about a blue or pink moon!!! I don’t mind which.
