The main focus, clearly, is the upcoming release date. On June 17th, RuneScape: Dragonwilds will see its first major update – only a week away! Yet, Mod Doom delves deeper into the significant aspects of this initial significant patch that’s about to roll out in the game. Given the numerous hints about future developments, this breakdown offers valuable insights into what can be expected (and not expected) in the 0.8 update for the game.
What to Expect from RuneScape: Dragonwilds 0.8 Update
In this new version of the game, you’ll see some long-awaited enhancements that will further improve your gaming experience. Here are the key improvements you can expect from our upcoming update, as discussed by Mod Doom in his latest RuneScape: Dragonwilds vlog.
Magic Skill Tree
The magic skill will finally arrive in Dragonwilds, along with:
- 2 new skill spells
- New magic focus item
- New magic potion
- Level 50 cap
- Skill upgrades
Defensive Structures
New, sturdier ways to defend your base will arrive in this update, including:
- Palisade gates
- Palisade walls
1. Option A: You can create both from ash or oak. Furthermore, the durability of each structure has been adjusted to allow you to maintain your position for a longer period. Expect to see visible signs of damage, such as battle scars and more.
2. Option B: Both can be made out of either ash or oak. Plus, the resilience of every structure has been fine-tuned to enable you to hold your ground for a longer span. Damage will manifest visibly through battle scars and such.
3. Option C: They are both craftable using either ash or oak. Moreover, the toughness of each construction has been tweaked to let you stay put for a more extended duration. Look out for signs of damage, like battle scars and the likes.
4. Option D: Both can be fashioned from either ash or oak. In addition, all structures have undergone health balancing adjustments, making it easier for you to sustain your position over a longer period. You will also notice damage in the form of battle scars and other marks.
Rebalancing
Items and backpacks will be fully rebalanced in RuneScape: Dragonwilds 0.8. These changes include:
- Store and carry increased stack sizes, up to 999 for some items
- Item weight adjustments to help keep you from getting bogged down
- Fuel timers have been adjusted to help logs last a bit longer
Hard Difficulty
For experienced gamers seeking a tougher challenge, here’s an option that ramps up the game’s complexity: A demanding game setting. Adjusting your game world to this ‘Hard’ mode will introduce increased challenges in the following ways:
1. Enemies become more resilient and cunning, requiring strategic thinking to defeat.
2. The environment becomes trickier to navigate, with obstacles and hazards that demand quick reflexes.
3. The game’s mechanics are tweaked for less predictability, making it harder to rely on familiar tactics.
- Enemy health increased
- Enemy damage increased
- Death only drops one gravestone with all items, which disappears if you die again before reclaiming
- XP progression lost if you die
- Enemy weakness & resistance tweaked
Since “RuneScape: Dragonwilds” is currently in Early Access, Jagex welcomes feedback on all its new features once they’re rolled out. The initial major update for this game lands on June 17th for PC users. Therefore, this month presents an excellent opportunity to experience the game for the first time or revisit it if you’ve been away.
