Next week, Remedy’s FBC: Firebreak goes live, following which, the game director Mike Kayatta has shared detailed insights about the upcoming cooperative shooter in a fresh video. Notably, he also mentioned the addition of further Corrupted Item effects.
As a Firebreak team member, you’ll undertake different roles (with two additional ones arriving after launch) in The Oldest House, where your mission is to prevent emergencies and fight off the Hiss. You have three Crisis Kits to select from, each equipped with a distinctive tool and an Altered Item that boosts its power. Remember, friendly fire is possible, so watch out not to set your teammates alight.
Corrupted Items may add an assortment of strange effects to a task, such as altered gravity, explosive bodies upon death, or causing players to become frozen. They cannot be destroyed using regular weapons, but a Black Rock Neutralizer, found at a workstation, can drive them off instead.
After successfully escaping waves of the Hiss enemy, you’ll gain access to new weapons and enhancements. These upgrades come with various benefits such as increased grenade ammunition, enhanced resistance against detrimental status effects, bullets that may cause an enemy to become ‘Wet’, and additional perks.
