Nintendo Offers Solutions For Switch 2 Bug Causing Incorrect Battery Indicator

Since the release of the Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5, some gamers have started noticing software glitches, particularly with the battery indicator on the console when played in handheld mode displaying incorrect data. To address this software issue, Nintendo has offered potential solutions.

According to IGN’s report, Nintendo has shared a method on their support pages for Switch 2 users to manually synchronize their console’s battery level measurement hardware with its software. This can be achieved by following these steps:

1. Update your Switch 2 system to the latest version.
2. Plug in your console and turn it off completely.
3. Press and hold both volume up and volume down keys while simultaneously pressing the power button to enter the recovery mode.

As per Nintendo’s suggestion, reaching the Recovery Mode screen could potentially resolve the issue of the inaccurate battery level display on the Switch 2’s main screen. Subsequently, you can turn off the device and restart it as usual.

If the suggested approach of syncing the battery indicator software through recovery mode doesn’t resolve your issue, Nintendo has offered an alternative, albeit more complex, solution. This method requires the console owner to repeatedly turn on and off their Switch 2, charge it fully up to 100%, then drain its battery completely down to 0% multiple times. Over these cycles, the battery charge indicator on the Switch 2 should gradually improve its accuracy as the steps are repeated several times.

Over the weekend, the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 has proven to be an extraordinarily successful debut. As per recent reports, the Switch 2 set a new record for Nintendo in the UK market as its highest-ever console launch, surpassing its previous fastest-selling system in the region, the Nintendo 3DS. Although specific sales numbers haven’t been disclosed yet, the report indicates that the Switch 2 outpaced the initial sales of the Nintendo 3DS, which moved approximately 113,000 units at launch. In the UK, both the Nintendo 3DS and the original Switch had comparable sales figures.

According to Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa, they anticipate selling approximately 15 million units of the Switch 2 within its first year on sale. This prediction, as per Furukawa himself, is a cautious one due to the higher cost of the new console compared to its previous model.

Given that the Switch 2 costs more than the initial Switch model, it’s clear that there may be significant barriers to its rapid spread among users during the initial phase,” he pointed out.

As a thrilled gamer, I’m excited to share that the long-awaited Nintendo Switch 2 is now available, gracing shelves alongside an array of launch-day titles!
