MindsEye Publisher Doesn’t Believe in “Concerted Effort” to Spread Negativity About the Game

According to Hakan Abrak, CEO of IO Interactive, he doesn’t think there’s a deliberate attempt to spread negativity about their upcoming action game, MindsEye. In an interview with IGN, Abrak stated that he isn’t convinced this will occur and emphasized that the game’s quality will be evident when it’s released.

Abrak replied, “I’m not sure about it, and I don’t agree. Let’s wait until June 10th to see what the game has to say.

Without adding any further comments regarding the alleged negativity towards MindsEye, Abrak did discuss some negative responses the game has received since certain players accessed early versions of the game. He expressed his opinion that players should hold off until the game’s day one patch is released to enjoy a more comprehensive experience.

He suggested that everyone hold off until June 10th, since it’s common for developers like us to be working on updates right up until the deadline. There are many changes being made, so he advised that everyone wait for the official release to ensure they get the best user experience.

In response to a query on MindsEye’s official Discord channel about the negative feedback towards their game’s marketing, Build A Rocket Boy co-CEO Mark Gerhard stated, “Absolutely, 100%.” When asked to elaborate, he added, “It’s not hard to figure out who might be behind it.

He stated in another Discord post that some individuals seem determined to prevent Leslie or Build A Rocket Boy from thriving, and they are actively trying to discredit the game and the studio. It’s quite evident that they are using automated bots and repetitive responses to counter any content we publish.

Regarding Abrak’s statement concerning players waiting for a day one patch on MindsEye, this is due to certain individuals obtaining physical versions of the game ahead of schedule, thanks to some retailers breaking street dates. One player even started a lengthy discussion on social media platform X, likening the game’s current state to the infamous bug-ridden launch of Mass Effect Andromeda.

In addition, the studio itself released a declaration, disclosing that the initial release of the game “MindsEye” didn’t contain the day-one update. This missing update typically includes numerous optimization enhancements and bug repairs.

As a game enthusiast here, I’m thrilled to announce that some physical copies of MindsEye have started popping up before our official launch on June 10th. Now, even though the anticipation is running high, both at Build A Rocket Boy and IOI Partners, we thought it would be best to share a few crucial points with you all.

MindsEye is coming to PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on June 10.
