In the expansion of “Lies of P: Overture,” 10 additional weapons are introduced, which we will be assessing today from top to bottom quality. Similar to those in the original game, these new weapons aren’t all created equal. In fact, you can see the significant differences between special and boss weapons compared to regular ones! So, let’s dive into our comprehensive tier list.
Best DLC Weapon Tier List | Lies of P: Overture
- S+ Tier – Monad’s Rose Sword
- S Tier – Pale Knight, Death’s Talons, Royal Horn Bow
- A Tier – Lorenzini Bolt, Maniac’s Pinwheel, La Vendetta, Puppet of the Future’s Welder
- B Tier – Silent Evangelists’ Mace, Arche’s Guardian
It’s hardly unexpected, but you’ll find that our S+ and S levels exclusively contain distinctive special weapons – a real delight for this DLC expansion!
Initially, let’s delve into the topic of the Monad’s Rose Sword. This weapon truly stands out and should hold a superior rank due to its extraordinary properties. It exhibits an astonishing speed and lightness while inflicting colossal damage. However, the catch is that it’s only obtainable at the conclusion of the DLC, serving as a reward for defeating the final boss.
Most notably, its “By The Name of the Rose” Fable Art is significantly impaired, as P performs a lengthy animation followed by swift slices across the vicinity, causing immense damage. During this animation, P becomes invulnerable immediately after startup. For added flair, feel free to recite “I am the storm that is approaching” while using it!
S Tier
Moving forward to the S Tier’s lineup, let’s start with the potent Paladin’s sword – this distinctive weapon operates exactly as a gunblade, much like what fans of Final Fantasy have grown accustomed to in terms of Squall’s iconic gear.
As a devoted fan, I’d describe it like this: The swift, horizontal slashes from its light attacks pack quite a punch and reach far, making them rather formidable. Conversely, the heavy attacks let you unleash the gun part of this gunblade. When I perform these heavy strikes, they trigger explosions that can dish out immense damage, while also providing an opportunity to dodge incoming attacks by recoiling.
Directly following the Pale Knight stands the Death’s Talons, a distinctive claw ideal for players seeking an agile, Technique-oriented gameplay style. These Talons boast an astonishing 40% Critical Rate, making them a fantastic match with the Assassin’s Amulet for impressive damage. They also work wonderfully with the Arm of God Amulet, given their swift moveset!
Lastly, we come across the Royal Horn Bow, a distinctive weapon from the DLC that’s particularly notable as it’s discovered early on. What sets it apart is its unique status as the sole bow in the game, and moreover, it doesn’t necessitate arrows for use! This offers you a variety of free projectile choices, making it an ideal secondary weapon for most character builds. Its damage isn’t extraordinarily high and it may be cumbersome against bosses, but it’s always beneficial to have on hand!
A Tier and B Tier
Regarding the A and B tiers, these primarily consist of the “standard” or “common” weapons in Lies of P. Due to their modular design, allowing you to interchange blades and handles, there are numerous combinations for potential weapons available. Consequently, it becomes challenging to objectively evaluate each weapon’s individual worth because of the multitude of options at your disposal!
Despite their similarities, what truly distinguishes the A and B tiers is the unique characteristics of each weapon. For instance, the Lorenzini Bolt offers insane boost-enhanced charging attacks, whereas the Puppet of the Future’s Welder functions as a simple flamethrower.
In contrast to the weapons in the higher tiers, those categorized as B tier are quite standard. Although they possess distinct Fable Arts and are reliable, they lack the intrigue or power found in the A or S tier weapons. However, don’t let that deter you! You can certainly achieve great results by customizing their blades and handles.
