Resident Evil Requiem Playable in 1st and 3rd Person, New Screenshots

Today, fresh content about Resident Evil Requiem has been unveiled, following Capcom’s decision to lift the embargo on a playable demo that media members were given access to during Summer Game Fest last week. Key points include the revelation that players can enjoy the upcoming PS5 game from either a first-person or third-person viewpoint, and they have the freedom to switch between these camera angles at their leisure.

The publisher combines the work done from the last two installments in Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and Resident Evil Village (which introduced a first-person camera to the main series) with their ongoing projects on remakes of Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4.

Biohazard and RE Village) that feature a first-person camera, and also their ongoing efforts on remaking older games like RE2, RE3, and RE4.

As per the IGN preview, you have the flexibility to switch between first-person and third-person perspectives during the game’s campaign at any moment, using the pause menu. The demo was played on a PS5 Pro, starting after the end of the unveiling trailer, where the main character, Grace Ashcroft, is seen attempting to flee from a medical ward.

In Resident Evil Requiem, a fresh stalker character will make an appearance, stepping into the roles vacated by Mr. X and Lady Dimitrescu. This new creature, visually speaking, is said to resemble the monster from the film “Barbarian,” according to IGN. The sensation of fleeing from this enigmatic new beast, as described by Grace, adds an extra layer of terror that brings back memories of my initial playthrough of Amnesia: The Dark Descent.

The intriguing points revolve around Grace’s character arc, the fresh danger she encounters, and the timeline of this event – is it set in the timeframe of Resident Evil Village’s Shadows of Rose DLC or a different era? I’m eager to discover the answers to these questions and more once Resident Evil Requiem premieres on February 27.

With Resident Evil Requiem, you won’t have to decide between first-person or third-person viewpoint, as Capcom previously offered a third-person option as additional content for Resident Evil Village. The blend of horror and action may vary based on the perspective, but I found both modes equally thrilling in Resident Evil Requiem. It appears that Capcom is continuing their impressive streak of quality game releases with

It’s been revealed that one innovative change in Resident Evil Requiem is the ability to switch between first and third-person perspectives during gameplay. From the brief sneak peek we’ve seen, it appears that the game will deliver the quality expected from a classic Resident Evil title. I anticipate more substantial revelations in the future, but as beginnings go, Resident Evil Requiem is setting a strong foundation.
