Flat2VR Studios, along with Team Beef and Running With Scissors, have unveiled a revamped version of POSTAL 2 titled “POSTAL 2 Redux“. This is not just an update, but a complete overhaul from the ground up of the 2003-released open-world first-person shooter. A Kickstarter campaign will be launched this summer to fund this project. The game plans to release on various platforms such as PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, PC, Mac, and Linux. However, the exact platforms may vary based on each store’s paperwork and the number of stretch goals achieved during the Kickstarter campaign.

You’ve asked for us to sort out those pesky crashes, give our game a fresh, modern look, and well… about that dog business, let’s just say we’re working on something different! According to Grant Bagwell, the co-founder of Team Beef, the initial code was nearly dying on us every day. Running With Scissors allowed us to dissect it and sew it back together again, resulting in fewer unexpected blue screens. In simpler terms, Kickstarter helped us add more features before someone higher up told us to stop.

POSTAL 2 Redux came into existence when Team Beef’s ingenious doctors breached the original POSTAL 2, transforming it for virtual reality (POSTAL 2: VR). As they peered into two decades of code, they found a need for a contemporary upgrade. Instead of rushing a superficial polish that might tarnish the Dude’s triumphant return, Flat2VR Studios persuaded Running With Scissors to approve a complete revival: maintain every grime-streaked square inch of Paradise, but redesign the innards so the game can run on modern hardwareāwithout the scent of overheated silicon.
The aim is straightforward: provide the ultimate, no-compromise version of POSTAL 2, redesigned without restrictions, optimized for every device you possess, and continuing to allow you to complete tasks with a shovel. POSTAL 2 Redux will feature improved graphics, new weaponry, more realistic physics, and an abundance of Easter eggs that could make Uncle Dave’s Compound run out of porcelain.
