Hulu Adds One of the Best Slasher Movies of the 2020s

This year, Hulu’s horror collection has seen significant enhancements in the slasher genre with two notable additions. Earlier in 2025, the platform welcomed the gloomy fan-preferred title “In a Violent Nature“, making it available to subscribers and introducing them to one of the most recent cult sensations in slasher films. Recently, Hulu bolstered its slasher offerings further by incorporating one of the genre’s biggest financial successes from the past five years.

On June 8th, Hulu incorporated the 2022 remake/sequel of “Scream” into their offerings, granting people an opportunity to immerse themselves in one of the most cherished slasher series ever made. Just like Wes Craven’s 1996 original, this new “Scream” is named after the movie and was created by the filmmakers known as Radio Silence, who modernized the self-referential franchise for today’s audience.

The movie grossed over $137 million at the box office, winning itself a substantial number of enthusiastic fans among long-term “Scream” devotees. This latest “Scream” installment continues the narrative of Sidney, Gale, and Dewey, while also introducing a fresh batch of characters intended to carry on their legacy.

2022’s “Scream” marks the beginning of a fresh wave of movies for the series, followed by “Scream 6” in the next year. In 2026, “Scream 7” is scheduled for release, with its original writer, Kevin Williamson, taking on the director’s role.
