On September 26th, the game titled “Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian” is set to release on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. This announcement has been made by publishers Koei Tecmo and developers Gust. Notably, the PlayStation 4 version will be exclusive to Japan.
Individuals who buy either the physical or digital versions within the initial two weeks post-release are eligible to obtain the “Activewear Adventuring Set” for characters Rias and Slade, along with the “Adventuring Charm Set” as a pre-order incentive.
Here is an overview of the game, via Koei Tecmo:
In “Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian,” players embark on a captivating and comforting journey with fresh characters: Rias Eidreise, an alchemically gifted adventurer, and Slade Clauslyter, who has the ability to open gates to other dimensions. Together, they aim to uncover the cause of Hallfein’s inhabitants disappearance and follow in the footsteps of their dear ones to rebuild their hometown. Along the way, they encounter a host of characters that aid them, including familiar figures from the “Atelier” series like Sophie Nuenmuller, Razeluxe Meitzen, Totori Helmold, and Wilbell Voll-Ersleid.
In the realm of “Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator”, this latest addition to the Atelier series will whisk players away to the land of Lantarna, a vast continent brimming with possibilities for exploration, collection of ingredients for synthesis, and uncovering every hidden nook. Regardless of whether it’s day or night, rain or shine, you’ll be able to traverse this world freely.
Additionally, players will get the chance to delve into intricate, multi-tiered dungeons, referred to as “Dimensional Paths”. The layout of these dungeons will alter each time you enter, offering different ingredients and encounters based on the difficulty level you’ve selected.

Battles in “Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian” will combine strategic elements with turn-based combat, creating a sequence of command battles on a timeline where players can assemble a squad of six characters (three front line and three back). Players can utilize action points and their equipped items to maximize damage and control the turn order of characters, causing consecutive turns for allies and activating powerful combined attacks.
As a gamer, I’ll be crafting unique items with resources collected from my adventures and battles, using a method called “Gift Color Synthesis.” In this creative process, I’ll need to match up the “Gift Colors” of the gathered materials to form new items. Additionally, I can personalize traits or alter recipes based on the ingredients at hand. To make things even more exciting, certain characters will join me in the crafting process, enhancing the final product!
Besides the usual rotation between exploring, battling, and crafting found in the Atelier gameplay, users will also have an opportunity to sell their created items at Rias’ shop while contributing to the growth of the town. By selling these handcrafted items, players can earn money that they can then use for Hallfein’s development, which will unveil new recipes and propel them further through the game’s main storyline.
