In July of Summer 2025, “The Shield Hero” will return to our screens for its fourth anime season. The official website for the series has announced that this new season will consist of only 12 episodes, as indicated by recent Blu-ray and DVD listings in Japan. This episode count aligns with the number seen in Season 3, hinting at a departure from the extended season orders typical of Seasons 1 and 2 for “The Shield Hero.

What to Know for The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 4

In July, during the Summer 2025 anime lineup, “The Rising of the Shield Hero” is set to return for its fourth season. However, an exact release date hasn’t been confirmed yet. What we do know is that Crunchyroll will broadcast the new episodes internationally (excluding Japan), where you can already watch the first three seasons. Moreover, Hitoshi Haga, who directed the anime’s third season, will be back to direct Season 4 with Kinema Citrus.

In the upcoming Season 4 of The Rising of the Shield Hero, Keigo Koyonagi will return to pen the show’s scripts, while Franziska van Wulfen, Sana Komatsu, and Masahiro Suwa are set to design the characters. Takanori Yamamoto will assist as director, and Kevin Penkin will compose the music again. The original voice cast from Seasons 1-3 will reprise their roles, and Takeo Otsuka will join the new season as Werner, with Jiro Saito stepping in as Jaralis.
