This PS5 Adventure from Another Code’s Scribe Has a Truly Bonkers Premise

It’s quite possible that the term ‘Dark Auction’ is unfamiliar to you, as it was unveiled last year as a project conceived by Rika Suzuki, a renowned video game writer who brought us Hotel Dusk: Room 215 and Another Code.

This upcoming game, resembling a point-and-click adventure set within an interactive narrative, will launch on PlayStation 5 in Japan by the end of this year, boasting an extraordinarily captivating plotline.

The narrative unfolds in Germany during 1981, focusing on a character named Noah Crawford, whose father has an unhealthy fascination with Adolf Hitler. One day, his father leaves for an unusual auction featuring some of Hitler’s personal belongings, promising to return immediately to share the findings with Noah. However, he fails to return, causing Noah to embark on a journey himself to the castle where the auction is rumored to have taken place, becoming entangled in the enigma surrounding his father’s disappearance.

This concept is quite unique and appealing, and we’re eager to see where the narrative unfolds. Based on the preview, it seems to involve problem-solving and gameplay that resembles visual novels, much like games such as Danganronpa might offer.

But it’s the plot that’s caught our attention here.

As an avid fan, here’s my take: “In this game, I embark on a journey with a band of youthful characters who vow to build a tranquil tomorrow, spurred by their newfound knowledge of the past. Although reminders of historical wars are woven into the narrative at times, it’s essential to note that this game does not aim to celebrate or endorse the horrors of war in any shape or form.

Consider this one to watch.
