The news is out – Borderlands 4 from Gearbox won’t be priced at $80. Instead, it will follow the trend of many current top-tier games and retail for $70. But keep in mind that this is just for the Standard Edition. If you want more perks, the Deluxe Edition will set you back $99.99, and the Super Deluxe Edition goes for $129.99.
In essence, the Deluxe Edition offers additional content beyond the base game release. This bonus material includes:
1. Four distinct regions with fresh missions and adversaries, referred to as the Bounty Pack Bundle.
2. A set of four Vault Cards, each presenting unique challenges and rewards.
3. Four custom vehicles, adorned with special aesthetics.
4. Exclusive Vault Hunter outfits.
Compared to a typical story DLC, you’ll find the content in this edition more concentrated. The Vault Cards operate similarly to those in Borderlands 3.
In addition to the Super Deluxe Version, you’ll receive the Vault Hunter Pack as a bonus. This pack comes with two Story Expansions, offering fresh storylines and side quests, as well as two new map areas. Moreover, it includes two new playable characters known as Vault Hunters. The package also offers new appearances for your Vault Hunters and ECHO-4, along with additional equipment, weapons, and gear. To sweeten the deal, you’ll receive the Ornate Order Pack, which contains four extra Vault Hunter customization options including skins, heads, and bodies.
Beyond this point, it’s important to note that Gearbox has plans for more than just the launch. They intend to roll out numerous free updates following the release, focusing on addressing community feedback and maintaining a balanced gameplay experience. Additionally, there are some substantial free content additions in the pipeline, but they are currently under wraps.
On September 12th, Borderlands 4 will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC platforms. The Nintendo Switch 2 version is planned for release later, with a possible higher price tag. A live stream has been scheduled for June 21st to unveil a fresh story trailer and gameplay demonstration. Keep an eye out for further updates!
