In the game of Mario Kart World, the Mirror Mode is a challenge that requires unlocking and it essentially reverses all the tracks vertically, giving you a mirror image of the original. Although the method may seem laborious, it’s not overly complicated and can be handled by beginners with ease.
This guide has all the requirements for unlocking mirror mode in Mario Kart World.
Grand Prix Cups
To achieve this step, it’s essential to finish every single one of the eight Grand Prix Cup races in the 150cc category, without needing a victory or a trophy. It’s important to note that results from lower classes won’t contribute towards this goal at all. Make sure the green checkmark appears after each race in the 150cc class.
Knockout Tour Rallies
To earn a checkmark for every race, you simply need to reach the end in all eight Knockout Tour Rallies using 150cc vehicles. Try your hardest to avoid disqualification, and make it through to the finish line to claim victory.
Free Roam Collectibles
Look for 10 P-Switches (indicated by blue ‘P’ symbols on the map), 10 Question Panels (represented by glowing question marks), and 10 Peach Medallions as well. If you are struggling to complete the tasks, consult the tracker to locate those you haven’t collected yet.
Repeat The Special Cup
After successfully finishing the first three stages, you’ll have another chance to compete in the Special Cup, specifically at the 150cc level. Completing this race, not necessarily winning or placing, is enough to unlock the cutscene and the mirror mode itself.
Free Roam Mirror Mode
Once you enable the mirror mode for tracks, you can also activate it during free roaming. Head over to Peach Stadium, then keep driving until you find an opportunity to turn left onto a curvy path. Keep an eye out for a red-roofed building, and aim to drive on top of it. From there, steer towards Peach’s Castle. Look for Peach’s window, drive through it to initiate a cutscene, and in doing so, unlock mirror mode for free roaming.
This will not work until free roam is unlocked for tracks.
That is how to unlock mirror mode for both tracks and free roam in Mario Kart World.
