New Red Dead Redemption Rumor Debunked by John Marston Actor

A recent speculation about a new Red Dead Redemption game has been proven false following much anticipation. While the majority of Rockstar Games enthusiasts are eagerly waiting for the upcoming launch of GTA 6, their excitement doesn’t exclude interest in other developments, particularly those related to Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption series. With Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption, Rockstar has established two of the most successful video game franchises globally. The last instalments in both series hold positions among the top 10 best-selling games ever, which has fostered highly dedicated and enthusiastic fan bases.

Although it’s probable that Red Dead Redemption 3 is still years off, perhaps even into the next decade, fans continue to harbor hope that the franchise will have some movement prior to then. Lately, there have been whispers about a possible remaster of Red Dead Redemption 2, which could bring the game to current-gen consoles and potentially the Nintendo Switch 2 as well. However, we don’t know exactly when this might be officially announced. Some speculate that it may launch this year, possibly in the fall, to potentially fill the void left by the delay of GTA 6 in Take-Two’s release schedule; however, for now, these are just unsubstantiated rumors.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting news all week after Red Dead Redemption actor Rob Wiethoff hinted at some major revelation he’d be sharing this week. Actor Roger Clark, who played Arthur Morgan, also indicated on social media that he was privy to the same information, causing some fans to speculate it might be the long-awaited remaster of Red Dead Redemption 2. But alas, it seems their excitement may have been premature. Wiethoff clarified that he doesn’t make announcements for Rockstar Games and asked fans to manage their expectations, promising more details soon.

Rob Wiethoff made it clear that the subject matter of his recent announcement is unrelated to Rockstar Games.

This could potentially relate to an event such as San Diego Comic-Con, a live stream, or similar activities, but it’s not connected with a new release for Red Dead Redemption. Fans shouldn’t anticipate any teasing about this from the actors since they are often bound by non-disclosure agreements and prefer to avoid taking risks with their jobs. In fact, for Red Dead Redemption 2, the cast were even prohibited from disclosing their involvement until the game was almost released! So, it’s a serious matter.

As far as we know, the future of the Red Dead Redemption series remains uncertain. If the rumored remaster exists, we might learn more about it in the coming months. However, given the long gaps between their games, it’s reasonable to expect a pause for several years before any potential new installment. It seems unusual that Red Dead Redemption 3 would be Rockstar’s next project due to the possibility of them developing a repetitive pattern by alternating between Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead titles.
