FBC: Firebreak PC Hotfix Improves Matchmaking, Fixes Connection Error Message

Yesterday saw the release of Firebreak from Remedy Entertainment, a game that, though not a live service title, will continue to receive post-launch updates. For now, fans must be patient as they wait for additional content, with the first major update scheduled for Fall. In the interim, a fresh hotfix has been made available on PC, aiming to resolve matchmaking issues; other platforms should see this fix soon as well.

In Firebreak, there are two ways to find a game: Quick Match, where you can adjust Clearance and Threat Level for any task, and Specific Task, which lets you pick a particular mission. However, the Specific Task feature hasn’t been delivering the best multiplayer experience. The upcoming fix aims to change that by reducing the number of solo games played and enhancing cross-platform game matching significantly.

Instead of receiving an error message when the host exits a party, you’ll notice a “Party Disbanded” message instead. This is a minor adjustment for now, but anticipate further improvements over the next few weeks.

The firebreak game is now accessible on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, as well as PC platforms. You can also find it on Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and PlayStation Plus Extra/Premium. For a comprehensive review of the game, feel free to take a look here.
